Do you know of any Filipino game? In this selection, you are going to read about two Filipino
games which are usually played during a fiesta.
A Fiesta is fun and what adds more fun to it are the Filipino games which
everyone enjoys. Young or old, rich or poor, parents or children, everyone joins or
watches Filipino games.
One such Filipino game is the palosebo. It is a game which uses a bamboo
pole (palo) grease with lard (sebo) and planted on the ground. The contestant has to
climb the pole to get the prize on its top.
Another favorite Filipino fiesta game is the Juego de Anillo. In this game,
contestants ride either on a bicycle or a carabao. Each contestant carries a 6-inch stick
which he tries to ram through a ring hanging from a wire. Whenever the target is hit,
the ring is detached from the line and gets hooked to the stick.
Let’s find out if you understood the selection. Write your answer in your notebook.
