Beaded Ornament

Materials

Ornament 1
Thread: Crochet thread size 30
Hook: Size 10 / 1.3mm
Ornament 2 5/8 inch diameter
10 grams size 8 or 10 seed beads
24 dagger beads
big eye needle beading needle

Ornament Two

Special Stitches
bsc = Beaded single crochet which is done in this manner : Begin a sc stitch, when you have the loop
caught up and through. (Two loops on hook.) Move a bead behind stitch before finishing your stitch in the
normal manner.
bch = Beaded chain stitch which is done in the following manner. Bring a bead up behind thread and
make a chain st in the normal manner. You will just capture the bead into the stitch this way.
hbdc = High beaded double crochet which is done in this manner, Begin normal double crochet till the
second draw through 2 lps. Before drawing thread through bring a bead up behind stitch, Draw through,
finish stitch in normal manner,

Ornament 1
String * 20 red beads, 1 white bead, 1 Red dagger bead, 1 white bead, * repeat this pattern till you have
24 dagger beads strung on thread. Then string 72 red beads on to thread.

ch 25 sl st to form ring, ch 1
Rnd 1 48 sc in ring sl st into 1st sc of ring, ch
Rnd 2 bsc in same st as joining, * ch 4 sk 3 sc, bsc in next sc, * repeat from * to * around, ending with
sl st into 1st bsc of rnd, ( 12 ch 4 lps ) ch 1,
Rnd 3 sc in same st as joining,* ch 3, dc in ch 3 lp, ch 4, sl st in top of dc st, ch 6, sl st in same place as
last sl st, ch 4, sl st in same place again, ( three picot cluster ) ch3, sc in next bsc, * repeat from * to *
around, ending with sl st into 1st sc of rnd. End off, weave end in. ( 12 picot clusters )
Rnd 4 With beads facing away from you, attach thread to any center ch 6 picot lp, ch 1 bsc in same sp,
* ch 7, bsc in next ch 6 lp, * repeat from * to * around, ending with ch 7, sl st into 1st bsc of rnd.
Rnd 5 sl st into ch 7 lp, ch 2, , 3 dc, hbdc, 4 dc hbdc,in same lp, * 4 dc, hbdc, 4 dc, hbdc, in next lp *
repeat from * to * around, ending with hbdc, before finishing the last draw through draw through a lp in
the top of the ch 2, draw through all 3 lps on hook

Rnd 10 With white bead bsc in same sc as joining, ch 1, bch with dagger bead, ch 1, bsc with another
white bead in a same st as 1st bsc, * bsc in ch 1 sp, ch 3, bsc in next ch 1 sp, ch 2 dc in next dc, ch 4, sl
st in top of dc st, ch 4, bsc in 2nd ch from hook bringing 18 seed beads, 1 white seed bead, 1 dagger
bead, 1 white seed bead, 18 seed beads up behind st before finishing, [be sure to draw your stitch up
tight before finishing for best effects.] ch 3, sl st in same place as last sl st, ch 4, sl st in same place again,
( three picot cluster with beaded fringe ) ch 2, bsc in next ch 1 sp, ch 3, bsc in next ch 1 sp, with white
bead, bsc in next sc, ch 1, bch with dagger bead, ch 1, bsc with another white bead in a same st as 1st
bsc, * repeat from * to * around, ending with sl st into sc of rnd. End off weave ends in,

Ornament Two
String 18 green beads, 1 white bead, 1 green dagger bead, 1 white bead, * 37 green beads, 1 white
bead, 1 green dagger bead, 1 white bead, * repeat this pattern till you have 16 dagger beads strung on
thread. Then string 195 green beads on to thread.

ch 24 sl st to form ring, ch 1
Rnd 1 32 sc in ring sl st into 1st sc of ring, ch 1
Rnd 2 ch 3, 3 tr in same st holding the last lp of each st on hook, ( 4 lps on hook ) yo, draw through all 4
loops, ch 5 sl st into top of cluster. (Picot made,) * ch 4, sk 1 sc bsc in next sc, Ch 4, sk 1 sc, 4 tr in next
sc holding the last lp of each st on hook, ( 5 lps on hook ) yo, draw through all 5 loops, ch 5 sl st into top
of cluster.* repeat from * to * around, ending with sl st into the top of the 1st cluster, ( 8 clusters )

Rnd 3 sl st into the ch 5 p, ch 1 bsc in same lp, 8 ch 10 bsc in next ch 5 p lp, * repeat from * to *
around, ending with sl st into 1st bsc of rnd.
Rnd 4 sl st into the ch 10 lp, ch 1 bsc in same lp, ( ch 3 bsc in same lp ) 3 times, * ch 3 bsc in next ch 10

Stringing pattern for Variation.

red, 1 green, 8 white,1 green, 8 white, 1 green, 1 red, 1 green, 8 white, * Repeat till you have 16 dagger
beads strung, then string 32 beads, going alternating red and green ( 1 red, 1 green, 1 red, ect. ) Then
string 16 green beads,
Follow instructions for ornament with these changes.
Rnd 5-8 sc in same sp as joining, * ch 3, sc in next ch 3 lp, 8 repeat from * to * around, ending with ch
1, dc in to 1st sc of rnd, ch 1,
Rnd 9 ch 3, 3 tr in same st holding the last lp of each st on hook, ( 4 lps on hook ) yo, draw through all 4
loops, ch 4, bsc in 2nd ch from hook bringing 1 pattern { 8 seed beads, 1green, 1 red, 1 green, 8 white,
1 green, 1 red dagger, 1 green, 8 white,1 green, 1 red, 1 green, 8 white,} beads up behind st before
finishing, [be sure to draw your stitch up tight before finishing for best effects.] ch 3, sl st into top of
cluster, ch 4 bsc with green bead in next ch 3 lp, ch 4,* 4 tr in next sc holding the last lp of each st on
hook, ( 5 lps on hook ) yo, draw through all 5 loops, ch 4, bsc in 2nd ch from hook bringing 1 pattern of { 8
seed beads, 1green, 1 red, 1 green, 8 white, 1 green, 1 red dagger, 1 green, 8 white,1 green, 1 red, 1
green, 8 white,} beads up behind st before finishing, ch 3, sl st into top of cluster, ch 4 bsc with in next ch
