Description
The Hydraulic Tubing Retrievable Flow Controller (TRFC-H) provides remotely actuated downhole flow
control for Intelligent Completions. It is designed for medium to high flow rates where as effective flow
area equivalent to tubing area, can be accomplished if required.

The TRFC-H uses a single dedicated ¼" control line to the surface to control the choke section of the tool.
The position of the choke is controlled by means of an indexer. This secures the choke position in 10
incremental adjustments, allowing precise flow regulation and control. Depending on the customer
requirement the choke openings will be configured to suit a particular application for optimum flow
regulations during the life of the well, including the option to utilize the TRFC-H as an on/off binary device.

The TRFC-H utilizes a hydraulic pressure offset by a nitrogen charged closing force, positions the choke as
desired. The nitrogen charged section of the tool provides an adjustable operating pressure, which allows
for lower surface operating pressures and maximum setting depths. This proven technology is extensively
used on Camco TRC deep set SCSSVs.

Multiple TRFC-H's may be run to provide zonal control in the intelligent completion. The Well Watcher™
system can be used in conjunction with the TRFC-H to provide monitoring and control.
