REGULATIONS:
1. A Judge is under no obligation to award any prize if he considers the Exhibit is not of sufficient merit.
2. Registration/Pedigree to be shown if required.
3. Each event must be run according to the printed Schedule. It is the responsibility of competitors to be aware of their
Ring No. and approximated Class time
4. All protests must be in writing, lodged with The Ringmaster within 30 minutes of the Judge’s Award being made.
DEPOSIT - $50. Should the Protest Committee consider the protest as frivolous, deposit shall be forfeited. In the
hearing of all protests and disputes arising from Awards, Judges’ decisions WILL BE FINAL.
5. Protest Committee will consist of Ring Committee of three (3). The Ringmaster has the authority to appoint any person to
act on his behalf or in the interest of the Society.
6. The Ringmasters decision, upon any question or dispute arising or incidental to the conduct of the Ring, or any
competition parade, exhibition or event or any person, shall be binding upon the Society and upon all Exhibitors and any
other persons.
7. No Entry will be received from any person disqualified by the QLD. Chamber of Agricultural Societies during the period of
disqualification. In the event of acceptance, upon discovery, such Entry will be deemed void. Fees will be retained.
8. Owners/Competitors are responsible for proper supervision of ALL Exhibits at ALL times whilst on Showgrounds, and
Owners and Competitors are responsible for damages caused by them or such Exhibits.
9. No person may converse with a Judge, except when receiving directions from the Judge, without the permission of the
Steward in attendance. Any person whether competitor or spectator, who harasses a Judge or Steward, will be removed
from the grounds and all awards forfeited.
10. All riders compete AT THEIR OWN RISK – the Gold Coast Show Society Inc. will not accept any liability for any
accident, loss or injury to horses, riders or spectators.
11. The age of a horse shall be calculated from the first day of August.
12. All competitors/exhibitors riding a horse must wear approved safety helmets to the current Australian, European or American
Standard (Australian Standard –AS/NZ 3838-1998: European-EN1384:USA- ASTMF1163) whilst mounted on a horse on the
Owen Park showgrounds. The restraining helmet harness must be secured and fastened at all times.
13. Horses/ponies are to compete in either Hunter or Open classes not both.
14. Stallions must be led in a bit and to be ridden by an Adult 17yrs and older, they are not permitted in Hack classes.
15. Pony Hacks must not exceed 14 hands.
16. A Galloway Hack shall be over 14 hands and not exceeding 15 hands.
17. A Hack is 15 hands and over.
18. No ring shall be required to wait for a competitor who may be competing in another ring.
19. The Show Society may carry out random tests for drugs in horses.
13. A maiden is a horse that has not won a first prize in a similar event at an affiliated Show, must be shown in a snaffle.
14. A novice is a horses that has not won an Open Champion at an Agricultural show.
15. Upon achieving an Open Champion in one ring you can not compete in the following ring, Reserve Champions are able to
compete in following ring.
19. A pony/horse may compete as an Open or Hunter but not both.
20. Health declaration must be completed before competing in the ring, available at the nomination tent.
21. Gold Coast show is not a Hendra compulsory show but we do encourage horse/ponies to be vaccinated and to follow protocol to
human and horses safe.
22. Release and Waiver of Liability forms are required for each competitor and are available at the nomination tent.
