To Whom It May Concern:

Over the past two and half years I have had the pleasure to work with Mr. Reuben Haggar in the International
Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) at Beijing World Youth Academy (BWYA). From 2011 to
2013, I, as deputy principal, was his direct supervisor for his work as a homeroom teacher and Head of Year, and
from August 2013 till present, I am the principal supervising him for his job as an English teacher in addition to his
pastoral work.

What impresses me most working with Mr. Haggar is his capacity for hard work, a strong sense of responsibility,
and trustworthiness. He has been teaching English to Grades 7, 8, 9 and 10 and acting as a homeroom teacher and
Head of Year, leading the Community and Service (C&S) for over 250 students in MYP as Coordinator, and
contributing regularly to our extra curricular progrmame. His energy, enthusiasm and dedication to work were
exemplary. To recognize his outstanding performance, we presented him the BWYA Award at the Teachers
Appreciation Day in September last year.

Mr. Haggar has a good rapport with students and demonstrates a genuine interest in their endeavor for academic
success and personal growth. He prepares his lessons well and brings his enthusiasm for learning to class. His sense
of humor also helps to get his students fully engaged in class. As a homeroom teacher, Mr. Haggar looks after his
students well. The Friday extended homeroom programme he created together with the other homeroom teachers of
the year group demonstrates his understanding of the students’ needs and learning objectives for personal growth.
The implementation of such a programme turned out to be very effective in building a bond as well as a team spirit
for the year group.

As C&S coordinator, Mr. Haggar demonstrates a unique ability to inspire; Initiatives such as C&S Fair were very
successful in promoting the true spirit of C&S and motivating students to do it. Under his leadership and thanks to
his hard work, the C&S enjoyed an unprecedented success in BWYA. Mr. Haggar is a role modal himself to
students in his effort to make the school community better. He used to offer students 2 clubs, baseball on Monday
and Speech and Debate on Wednesday, and he is still supervising the latter one now. Lots of students have
benefitted from attending these clubs. Mr. Haggar is also a regular participant in after-school student events, staying
behind after work to supervise these activities.

Mr. Haggar is always punctual for work and meetings, and has excellent attendance. He gets along with his
colleagues and cooperates well with his superiors and senior management. We have never had any complaints about
him from students, parents or other teachers.

To the best of my knowledge, Mr. Haggar is of good character and there is no aspect of his behavior, actions or
activities that would make him unsuitable for working with young people.

Mr. Haggar is an invaluable member of the faculty, and a great teacher and mentor to his students. It’s a pity that he
has decided to move on. We wish him success in his future endeavours.

Yours Sincerely,
