Ava Gardner (December 24, 1922 - January 25, 1990) was an
American actress. Ava Lavinia Gardner was born in Grabtown, in the
state of North Carolina, in a very poor family of farmers snuff. He grew up in the field along with his six siblings, she was the youngest. When she finished her schooling had become a very attractive young girl. The sister’s husband took some pictures and exposed it in his shop in New York. One day a director of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer looked the photos and after a time she received a proposal of this company and Gardner has signed a contract.
She began to act in films in 1942, and the following years he
performed in numerous productions. For a long time the work was typecast as a star of great physical attractiveness, rather than his acting ability, which has been developing. As the years passed, and Gardner was becoming a more mature woman, the directors began to offer different roles, so that the public was aware of a new Ava Gardner. Her acting skill was highlighted in films like The Snows of Kilimanjaro and Mogambo. On the latter was even nominated for an Oscar as Best Actress.
The following years Gardner participated in other memorable films
as 55 Days at Peking and The Night of the Iguana. Her role decadent Hollywood actress in The Barefoot Contessa with Humphrey Bogart, is considered by many critics as her best performance in her life. In 1969 Gardner moved to London. However intervened in several television productions, such as Falcon Crest. Gardner was married three times, all with well known actors. Her first marriage to Mickey Rooney, which lasted less than a year. The second, with Artie Shaw, was equally brief. Her third husband was Frank Sinatra, with whom she was married six years, between 1951 and 1957, a relationship that made rivers of ink. He died in London of pneumonia at 68 years old.
