Job description

About this jobACTIVITIESUnder the responsibility of the COMPANY SITE REPRESENTATIVE and the
UFR QA/QC Package Leader functionally, the Site Welding Inspector shall supervise and validate with
UFR Contractor/Subcontractor all Welding and NDT inspections and activities executed in Site ,
particularly:Ensure that the work is performed safely, in compliance with client and HSE
requirements and objectives.

Conducting inspection of

Contractor’s facilities as necessary in particular at qualification stage to ensure adherence to


qualified process and prevent deviations

Reviewing relevant Qualification / Manufacturing / Fabrication / testing documents throughout yard


construction phase of the project. This includes typically material selection, specifications, welding
procedures, welding qualifications, testing procedures, ITP, technical reports, test NDE and
Mechanical test results reports etc ...

Ensure that the work is executed in full compliance with the COMPANY General Specification, and
project particular specifications / requirements.

Ensure that Contractors / Subcontractors perform Welding inspection activities on site in accordance
with project requirements, specified acceptance criteria and the contracted scope of work.

Conduct surveillance of Contractors / Subcontractors fabrication and testing processes and activities
in accordance with the EGINA UFR Package Surveillance Plan, Quality Control Plans (QCPs) &
Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)

Review, monitor and report daily the status of inspection and test activities executed by the EGINA
UFR Contractor, Subcontractors & Suppliers on site.

Pre-validate together with Contractors / Subcontractors all NDE.

Witness NDE operations,

NDE operator qualification and test equipment, including acceptance criteria and parameters.

Continuous day to day supervision of construction activities including relevant quality controls
during pre-fabrication and site construction

Reporting to the UFR QA/QC Package Leader & CPY Site Representative on a regular basis, and to
Project’sManagement upon request

Ensure the management and control and traceability of project materials to be incorporated to the
Works.

Conduct “X” check of NDE Operators and test equipment. Perform independent “X” check & testing
of structures, piping and fittings (forgings, cold bending, weldments etc.).

Monitor and review of the preparation of final document deliverables


(Fabrication/Construction,

Mechanical Completion and “As-Built” dossiers).

Monitor and report (weekly) Fabrication activities (progress, schedule, area of concerns, etc.)

Follow up NCR / CAR processes as required

Developing and preparing as need be technical reports. HSE

To ensure that an effective implementation of HSEQ requirements is applied, as appropriate at site.

To take time for checking safety documents and permits at site.

To ensure that risk assessment prior to starting of a new activity is properly conducted and
understood by personnel involved.

To make himself visible at site and available/approachable for discussion about HSE concerns.

To demonstrate evidence of his relationship to safety with clear communication on site about
commitment to safety.

To continuously assess safety behaviour of personnel and intervene with a pro-active approach
explaining and coaching.

To take every opportunity at site to communicate with workforce about safety, listening on
difficulties, sharing his own experience and proposing applicable solutions.

To be involved in incident investigation and follow-up actions implementation.

Participate in safety tours and visits on site defined by UFR.ACCOUNTABILITIES

Directly responsible for follow up on site to see that all construction activities are done in full
compliance with COMPANY General Specification and Project Particular specification/requirements

Within full compliance to HSEQ rules the job holder is accountable for ensuring that Contractors /
Subcontractors perform welding, NDE and all QC inspection activities in accordance with project
requirements, specified acceptance criteria ensuring timely fabrication and delivery of all
equipments fabricated in Sites.QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Certified welding Inspector (CWI) or CSWIP or equivalent. Must have ASNT or EN473 Level II for
Radio & MPI, as a minimum. UT Level II according to the same standards is highly appreciated.

Minimum 3 years of experience in a QC/Welding/NDE role in the Oil and Gas Industry.

Good knowledge of the company's technical referential and HSE Golden Rules. Good knowledge of
welding processes. Very good knowledge of material and equipment. Very good competencies
related to NDE Techniques. Familiarity with Contractor, Subcontractor & Supplier documentation i.e.
QCP/ITP, Construction / Fabrication Dossiers, Material Certification, Quality Records etc.

Ability to read fabrication drawings including welding symbols.

Team oriented, good communication, motivational, coordination and delegation skills.


Fluent in English both verbally and in writing, and Italian speaking would be a plus

We are recruiting on behalf of our client who is an indigenous player in the oil and gas downstream
sector now expanding its operations into tank farm operations to fill this position.

Responsibilities

Allocates Quality Control personnel to the various areas of site activity.

Supervises inspections, reports and the documentation issued by inspectors and collect and file
the required Quality Records.

Evaluates the qualifications of welders and Non Destructive Test-NDT technicians with regard to
the activities assigned.

Evaluates the qualifications of inspection personnel.

Ensures the correct application of Quality Control phase.
