-1Being The Christians We’re Called To Be

We all have struggles in our Christian walk and we will for as long as we live on

Earth, but as long as we’re here we have to deal with these struggles. As long as Satan

continues to battle against us we have to make sure we do not waver in our faith and

actions when it is so easy to.

Ÿ Your testimony of messing up at McDonald’s and how you felt

I still have plenty to work on in myself, but it made me realize that it is so easy to

get into the ways of the world. Even though most would see that as a little thing it is just

as big as any other sin and it went against the words of Jesus himself.

Ÿ Matthew 7:1-6

Ÿ Matthew 22:37-40

I play the good Christian and in all that I do I try to be, but it still shows that we

all, especially me, have much more to do to get to where we need to be as Christian’s.

You probably don’t have the same struggles as me, but there is something Satan uses to

fight all of us with. We have all come along way from when we first came into this walk

and I’m not cutting any body down because only God and ourselves’s know where we are

at in the faith. And again we aren’t here to judge others, but to sort of judge ourselves to

continue to make us better. We need to continue to remember what brings us our victory

like as Paul wrote:

Ÿ Romans 7:14-17

Ÿ Romans 8:1-2, 9-10

We have to make sure that we are not dying spiritually or falling behind, we must

continue to move forward. Time does not stop for us and death will eventually take us ,
that is why we must not stop in growing in the spirit so that unlike time we can won’t

have to worry about Satan and the second death that is to come. We must get to heaven.

Our motto at youth group and it should be for everyone of us is that

Ÿ our main goal is to get ourselves to heaven and two is to take as many as we can with

us

Like my story we must not pretend in any way to be a Christian, even if it a small

piece of your being it can be a major hole in your life. A virus is small and it can make

you sick in a very short time and even lead to death if not treated. We must fill up these

holes with God, the only one who can truly fill us up. We have to give all of ourselves to

him. I’m sure most of you have heard the word SANTIFICATION and know what it

means, but if not don’t worry you will.

Ÿ Sanctification - is the process of conforming ourselves to the image of Christ. It is

not the complete eradication of sin, but by making every part of our being like Christ

we will make it easy to stop sin before it happens and to continue to grow in the

spirit.

We cannot stop at OK, but must strive for the fullness that God has given within

us. We must continue to follow his guidance and wisdom and not be stubborn or lazy or

we will fall. We must be more than the good person, but the great Christian. By making

sure we do everything we can to follow God’s will for our lives, we can make the best

examples for others in our lives. We need to shine and stand out in the darkness.

Ÿ Like Moses

Ÿ Exodus 34:29-35 I’m not going to read it but give a quick paraphrase of it, read it if

you remember later though. Moses had received the ten commandments and had
come down from the Mount Sinai and when he reached the people his face shown

with a bright glow from talking and being near the presence of the Lord. But the

wicked people could not stand to see his face because they knew it was in

righteousness and only unrighteousness fears righteousness. So Moses wore a veil so

that others could stand to look at him when he was near. Eventually though the

brightness of his face went away yet Moses continued to wear the veil to keep the

people thinking that it was still shining, but would only take the veil off when he was

in the tent of the Lord.

Ÿ Paul wrote concerning this in 2 Corinthians 3:7-8, 12-14

Ÿ Phillipians 2:15b “Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright

lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people.”

We must not have a veil covering our lives, others ought to be able to see us shine

for Jesus in everything we do. And like me if we aren’t the light in the darkness, God is

telling you that there is something in the way and you need to remove it. Which can only

be done through the total sanctification of your life in the image of Jesus Christ.

Lastly we must make sure nothing hinders our walk with Christ for the it is the

heaviest price to be paid. Jesus said this in

Ÿ Matthew 7:21 and from Paul in 1 Thess 4:7-8

Ÿ Luke 9:62

But again be happy when persecution comes your way even though it won’t seem

happy. As long as Satan is attacking us we know we are doing right by God. But nothing

can separate us from God and stop us in VICTORY THROUGH JESUS!!!!!

Ÿ Romans 8:35-37
