MISSION

The Mission of the BPEP Foundation is:

to promote sustainable human development and preserve our
environment through the integration of technology innovation, media,
and management.

VISSION

Additional research and field extension is supported through active

collaboration with Engineers with the collaboration of local and
foreign Universities.
OBJECTIVES

• Pakistan is Agro-based country and about 70% population lives

in rural areas
• 30% energy requirement is already fulfillment from the
biomass
• Every year 29% energy used from wooden
• Deforestation rate is so high among the world
• With all health risks and fast deforestation resulting changes in
bio-diversity.
• Available resource of energy is not sufficient and being used
rapidly, racing towards their ends
• Maximum earning from reasonable resources
• Boost-up country image as a Environment Friendly
Specific Activities
BPEP headquartered in Faisalabad, is a privately held corporation specializing in
development of waste-to-energy systems based on the Company's patented
gasification systems.
The Company offers a wide range of capabilities, including equipment sales and
leasing, and design and supply of complete integrated waste management facilities.
Several styles of gasification systems are available. The various configurations are
described on the Systems and Capacities page. In addition to the production of
electrical energy, Axxon systems, in conjunction with alcohol processing equipment
from Power Energy Fuels, Inc. can produce liquid alcohol fuels for blending with
gasolines or use as a clean-burning liquid fuel.

Waste-to-Energy

In brief, BPEP can reduce the amount of solid waste that

must be landfilled by up to 75%, without a reuse-recycling
program and up to 90% with an active recycling program in
place. Not only is the volume of landfilled material
significantly reduced, but the nature of the remaining
material, being primarily inorganic, is less likely to cause
groundwater contamination.
Energy Production
A major advantage of the BPEP is its ability to produce a low-BTU gas to run
standard internal combustion engines driving electric generators or as fuel for
steam or hot water boilers. By this capability and because the gasifier can operate
from as low as 500 lbs. per hour (about 300 kW) to 6,000 lbs. per hour (6000 kW)
the conversion of a wide range of solid wastes to energy becomes not only practical
and economically viable, but environmentally sound (there are no waste gases
vented to the atmosphere). The ability to operate over a wide capacity range and
with many different feedstocks makes the production of energy possible for rural
areas in underdeveloped countries not served by a national power grid as well as
generating offsetting revenues.

By-Products
Depending on the nature of the feedstock, either low-BTU gas for energy
production (electricity or steam) can be produced or a range of by-products such as
carbon black, diesel fuel and asphaltic materials (from tires); ammonia liquefied
gases such as hydrogen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide and various other compounds.
Findings

Waste Management Technology for the Next Millennium

• Multiple Fuels -- MSW (RDF), Tires, Biomass, Sludges

• No Emissions from Gasifier -- NOT an Incinerator
• Simple to operate and maintain -- does not require an operator
• Produce Electrical Power, Steam, Heat or Liquid Fuels
• Capacities/per unit from 500 lbs (225 kg) to 6,000 lbs (2,700 kg) per hour

• Electrical power from 500 to 7,000 kWe per unit
