CENTRIFUGE PT PLANT

Sr. No. Hiller reply to IEIL comments dated 22.05.18

Calculation Basis cannot be provided for the following, as they are based on our
patented design calculations-
i) Bowl Dia/Length
A ii) Centrifugal Force
iii) Operating Speed
iv) Settling Time

“Anti-Vibration Pads” was stated in IEL datasheet itself. Kindly note ”Rubber Buffers”
B inclusion in our above referenced Techno-Commercial Proposal.
Furthermore, both terms are interchangeable and refer to the same component

Hiller machines are VFD operated only. This is because of various O&M and Power
Conservation advantages that it has over either of the more obsolete and outdated
Turbo Coupling/DOL Panel system and/or Eddy Current Drive/Star-Delta System. P.F.A
the advantages of a VFD driven Decanter
C Centrifuge.
Furthermore, even a VFD driven machine can be run as a fixed drive one, as the
operating frequency of the VFD (which in turn controls the bowl speed and
differential speed of machine) can be set during commissioning and locked.

P.F.A your filled up motor datasheet format. GA and Curves can be furnished on
D receipt of an LOI or formal P.O.
We accept the correction on our typo error, variation in motor frequency (i.e. 50 Hz)
E will be ±5%.

Motor make is not Sumitomo, Our gearbox is patented by and

imported/manufactured from Sumitomo Cyclo Drives GmbH, Germany. Motor make
F will be either CGL or ABB, as in stated in our above referenced Techno-Commercial
Proposal.

Painting specs for for Decanter Centrifuge will be as per Hiller Standard ONLY. Kindly
G note specifications in above referenced Techno-Commercial Proposal.

H Dynamic and static load will be as per submitted Typical GA Drawing.

As per observations made in Typical P&I Diagram-

i) Polymer Pump capacity can be 1000 lt/hr instead of 800 lt/hr
ii) Polymer solution strength of 0.5% is extremely high. This will lead to much higher
I polymer consumption. We recommend solution strength of 0.1%, to keep polymer
usage more economical, without affecting performance.
iii) Feed pressure cannot be 2 bar, max upto 1 bar ONLY.

J Flushing water quantity will be 3000-4000lt/hr, with minimum 1 bar pressure

Our machines are designed as such that we do not need commissioning/erection
K spares for start up of the machine. Furthermore, you can consider our offered 2 years
spares to be viable for 3 years.
L Suitable piping, valves, pressure gauges not in Hiller Scope

OK.
Please note that if further calculations are required by
clients (DPSI/TCE/DSCPL/NTPC/UPRVUNL) in the future,
then Hiller will be responsible to convince/justify client's
requirements accordingly & solicit approval.

Our machines are designed to handle upto 24 hrs of operation. “Continuous” operation
is indicated
keeping that in mind. Operating hours selected by you is for your upstream/downstream

Maximum Bowl Speed of machine is 4400 rpm. Incorrect data stated in submitted
D Typical GAD. The
operating speed of the machine is generally between 400-4200 rpm.

Kindly note detailed MOC list of components in the above referenced Techno-
