1) Delete previous practice lap setup data from the orange cells, above.
2) Enter track (using the drop down menu) and your driver satisfied range in the orange boxes at the top of the page.
3) Decide whether you want to look for the upper or lower edge of your drivers satisfied range by changing the orange cells next to the
"recommended setup" box. Usually, you would look for the lower edge unless you expect the part setup value to be less than 100, then
you should look for the upper edge.
4) The "recommended setup" box recommends a "practice" setup to start with. Enter these numbers into GPRO and do a practice lap
with your driver.
5) Once your driver has given you feedback, enter the setup value used for each of the parts in the boxes above. Also, enter the driver
comments for each part using the drop down boxes to the right of the setup value. If the driver makes no comment about a particular
part, it means he is satisfied!
6) After doing this, the "Recommended setup" box will now suggest another "practice" setup to use. As before, do a lap in GPRO with
these new settings, and then enter the values and driver comments under "lap 2" above for each part. The "recommended setup" will
now suggest another practice setup.
7) Keep doing practice laps and updating the spreadsheet until you have done 5 or 6 practice laps. By now, the "accuracy" for all parts in
the "recommended setup" box should be no more than +/-10 (ideally no more than +/-5). Anyway, make sure that there are at least two
practice laps left.
8) Now, do a lap using the "Q1" numbers in the recommended setup box. Your driver should be satisfied with this setup, and this should
be the fastest net time done by your driver so far.
9) Finally, introduce a wing split. Change the front and rear wing by the amounts in the "Recommended wing split" box and try another
practice lap with these new settings. If the wing split is good, the net time for this lap should be faster than all previous laps.
10) If you have any laps left, try a different wing split!
