1. Purpose
The purpose of the Implementation Plan is to identify the implementation steps and communication
strategies for new or substantially amended policies or procedures.
2. Inclusions
The Implementation Plan includes:
(a) Implementation Issues
o Identification of any implementation issues;
o A communication plan including targeted communication;
o Any staff development requirements;
o Any system constraints or changes required; and
o Any additional costs/resources required to implement the policy or procedure.
(b) Action Steps
o The actions that will address implementation issues.
(c) Responsibility
o The persons responsible for implementing each of the action steps.
(d) Timelines
o The proposed timelines for completing each of the action steps.
3. Submission
A completed Implementation Plan should be submitted:
(a) To the University Secretariat when seeking review of draft policies and posting for University
wide consultation;
(b) To the Vice-Chancellor’s Executive (within a submission) when seeking endorsement of an
Academic policy/procedure or suite, or endorsement and approval of a draft Services
policy/procedure or suite or Governance procedure;
(c) To the Academic Board (within a submission) when seeking approval of a draft Academic
policy/procedure or suite;
(d) To the University Council (within a submission) when seeking approval of a draft Governance
policy.
