I’ve asked this question a number of ti mes to the Golf Association .
Why is the Canadian Cancer Society stic king the kni fe in our backs
when the Golf Industry ac ross Canada has raised millions of dollars
in support of c ancer vic tims and ca ncer research ? This m akes no
sense.

My son was part of a charity marathon last weekend. I can assure

you that I made sure that the Canadian Cancer Society WAS N OT in-
volved before I allowed him to run.

I used to give money to the Canadian Cancer Society every single

year. From now on, they will not get a r ed cent from me. Nothin g.

My father died of prostate c ancer and I was wi th him all through

the course of his disease and right u p to the end. I have lost
friends and fam ily to this trag ic illness and am fully aware tha t we
need to support research into a cure and support families and pa-
tients as they cope with this sickness.

Because of this, my family and I have supported the CCS for years.

No longer !

I was recently asked to participate in a Golf Tournament in the Ni-

agara a rea to raise funds for the CCS. I will not parti cipate.

Also two of my three children wanted to run in the CCS walk for a
cure. I stopped them.

trained, instructed, and consulted with THOUSANDS of turf managers and technicians. Mr. Gathercole has also been an agricultural
agronomist. For many years, Mr. Gathercole was a contributing columnist for TURF & Recreation Magazine, Canada’s Turf and Grounds
Maintenance Authority.

Mr. Gathercole and his colleagues have followed the evolution of ENVIRONMENTAL TERRORISM for over a quarter century. For FIFTEEN
