VOICEOVER:
The Key of David with Gerald Flurry.

GERALD FLURRY:
Greetings, everyone.

The whole world is deceived about the Bible. Now, that’s a shocking, stunning statement
to make, but that’s exactly what your Bible says—they are deceived about the Bible!
Well, why is that?

Well, I have a new booklet I’m going to offer you today that will explain all of that to
you. It’s actually, most of it’s in one chapter of Isaiah, and I will explain that from this
booklet that you will receive if you want it, and I hope most of you will. But it certainly
is expanded and updated from the old Isaiah booklet, and we’d like to give it to you. It
has a great deal in there that the other booklet simply does not have, and one chapter in
the book of Isaiah especially focuses on how people are deceived, why they’re deceived
about the Bible, and how they can gain so much more depth if they will just understand
this concept. It is absolutely critical!

Now, in this chapter it’s unusual in this way, in that it discusses three personalities. Three
personalities, and it’ll also be explained in our new booklet, but I want to explain quite a
lot of it to you today because it talks about three personalities, end-time personalities, and
one of them is very rebellious inside God’s own Church, and the other two, then, are
obedient to God. Now, this has everything to do with gaining the depth of what your
Bible says, and we have to read the Bible and believe it just as it is. After all, Christ said
that we have to live by every word of God, and he meant by that the Old and the New
Testament, every single word. So here it’s talking about three personalities, and it’s
talking about why people are deceived about this.

So why is the whole world deceived about the Bible? Now, that’s what Revelation 12 and
verse 9 says—the whole world is deceived.

And Isaiah chapter 22 says, well, now, look, there is a solution. We can solve that
problem, and we all must solve it or we fall into that category of a deceived person.

Notice Isaiah 30 and verse 8, and we’ll see that Isaiah 22 really is for us today. Isaiah 30
and verse 8: “Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be
for the time to come forever and ever:”

1
So God told Isaiah, “Well, you write it on a table or in a tablet for that time, but for the
end time you put it in a book, a book for the time to come,” which means the latter day.

Now, you can read Isaiah 41 and verse 22—I think I recently discussed this—where God
says, “Well, now, if you understand this, you should show us what is going to happen,”
the former things, which are a type of the latter things, “Now you show us what is going
to happen, or declare us things to come.”

That’s what God expects us to do. There is duality in this Bible. But I want to show you
where all the problems lie, in Isaiah chapter 22. Notice Isaiah 22 and verse 1: “The
burden of the valley of vision. What aileth thee now, that thou art wholly gone up to the
housetops?”

So He calls it the valley of vision. It actually should read valley of revelation or

prophesying. And then He’s talking about His own people, who ought to be up on the
mountaintop proclaiming these prophecies, but they're down in the valley and they’re not
doing their job. That’s the symbolism here, and you’ll see that as we go along. It’s very
clearly what Isaiah is talking about.

So God’s own people are not doing their job. They’re not proclaiming God’s revelation
that they did receive. God gave it to them, then something terrible and dreadful happened,
and they stopped proclaiming it, and they, too, became deceived—deceived about their
own Bible which they once knew so well. So there’s a constant battle going on, a battle to
keep that truth from the evil ruler of this world, according to II Corinthians 4 and verse 4.

Notice verse 2 of Isaiah 22: “Thou that art full of stirs, a tumultuous city,” that’s
Jerusalem, and today it’s talking about spiritual Jerusalem, “a joyous city: thy slain men
are not slain with the sword, nor dead in battle.”

So this war is real. He’s talking about people being slain, but not with the sword. It’s
talking spiritually. They have been slain spiritually. Some of those very people of God
have already lost their eternal lives, so it is something we need to be concerned about.
God is trying to get us focused on eternity. We have to look at this spiritually.

We are called soldiers in II Timothy 2. We are to fight the good fight of faith, and fight
against the god of this world, which is Satan the devil. That’s what II Corinthians 4 and
verse 4 is all about.

But Isaiah shows us how to be spiritual forever. Not to be hearers of this Word, but to be
doers of it, to really put it to practice—open the Bible, look at it, believe it, and do it, and
miraculous things happen. That’s what most people don’t understand, but it’s written
there throughout the Bible.

Let’s go to verse 3: “All thy rulers are fled together, they are bound by the archers: all
that are found in thee are bound together, which have fled from far.”

In other words, the ministers didn’t stand up for God, they didn’t stand up for the people
of God, they didn’t love them the way they should, and they just surrendered and went
2
off and did their own thing, and left God’s people to lose what they had, though the
people are at fault, as well. They weren’t walking with God the way they should have
been. So we are in a spiritual war, if we understand the Bible.

But let’s get on down and look at why people are deceived about the Bible, and
understand it in depth because if we don’t understand it, we’re destined to be deceived
ourselves.

Verse 4: “Therefore said I, Look away from me; I will weep bitterly, labor not to comfort
me, because of the spoiling of the daughter of my people.”

Here’s Isaiah that sees this in a vision. He didn’t even see it in reality the way I do, and
you can and we all can, but he just saw it in a vision and he said he couldn’t even be
comforted because it was the daughter of God’s people. Not the ancient people that
Isaiah talked about and delivered this message to, but the daughter in this end time, and
he’s showing how all of that back then anciently was only a type of what is coming
today.

Verse 5 talks about it being “a day of trouble, and of treading down,” that’s talking about
the end time, and you can find many prophecies about that. Then verse 5, the last part of
it, it is “by the Lord GOD of hosts.” I mean here you’re talking about a day of trouble and
a day of treading down, and it’s by God, Himself. God, Himself is doing it! Now, this has
to be serious if God, Himself would do such a thing. Why is He doing this? Well, His
own people have rebelled against Him, and nothing could be more serious, and He’s
trying to save all of them that He possibly can.

Notice verse 9 of Isaiah 22, and we’ll see more symbolism here: “Ye have seen also the
breaches of the city of David, that they are many: and ye gathered together the waters of
the lower pool.” The lower pool was a pool inside the fortified city. But why is it talking
about water? Well, and why were there water bubbling up within the temple?

Well, here’s what we wrote in our book: “Why is it necessary for spring waters to emerge
from within any temple? To secure proper symbolism of the fountains of salvation from
God in heaven.”

See, it’s a symbol of salvation from God. We’re talking about water, which is again a
type of God’s Holy Spirit, and it’s bubbling up within God’s own temple.

But here, you see, these people have lost that vision, and they don’t understand the
symbolism of all of this. But you have to look at it spiritually. It is, after all, a book for
this end time. It’s a book for right now, and Isaiah wrote it specifically for this end time
in a book. He put it in a book for that very reason!

So what does it mean if we don’t understand this? I mean, we must understand it or we’re
going to be deceived about the Bible. I mean this Bible interprets itself, and it will
explain itself, but God does have to reveal all of this to us.

3
Notice verse 11: “Ye made also a ditch between the two walls for the water of the old
pool:” in other words, they had revelation before, and then God keeps giving new
revelation all the time through the power of His Holy Spirit. Notice verse 11 and we get
right at the heart and core of why people are deceived about the Bible. I mean, do you
really want to know? And I believe you do want to know why people are deceived about
the Bible. Well, here is God’s explanation of it, and we do so need to understand this.
Verse 11: “but ye have not looked unto the maker thereof, neither had respect unto him
that fashioned it long ago.”

See, God is upset with them because He said, “Look, you’re not looking to your Maker!
You’re not looking to the Source of all of this revelation!” It comes from God; it doesn’t
come from men! Men can’t explain the Bible to you, only God reveals truth! But men
don’t see beyond men, other men. They don’t see the Source of all of this! They don’t see
the Source of this Book! This Book, Christ said, is a Book where we must live by every
single word of it if we’re going to get anyplace spiritually, and the Source of this Book is
God, the Father, Himself, and this Book is Jesus Christ in print. But isn’t it amazing that
the whole world is deceived about that Book? The whole world! And it’s a Book to
explain all about why man, and we’re here to get to know God, and what is the purpose of
man, what is he doing on this earth? What is he doing? Well, that’s what God wants us to
understand and understand very clearly. This is why the whole world is deceived about
the Bible. They don’t get to the Creator of all things, the Giver of all revelation, the
Source of all goodness and righteousness. They don’t get to that! They don’t get beyond
human reasoning! They don’t get beyond the human element! They just look to each
other! And they don’t really believe what Christ said, even though, I mean, if we’re going
to be a Christian we have to follow Christ, and Christ said you have to live by every
word. That includes Isaiah 22, and every word of this Book, every inspired word. There
are some mistakes there, but they can easily be proven and corrected. If we understand
and let God lead us in the rest of the Bible we’ll see where something is terribly wrong,
and the Bible will show you what it is if we study like we should.

But this world, you see, has so much trouble just believing the Author of the Bible! They
don’t really believe! You can get into words like this, and how many people really
believe them? Well, do you know why, then, that the world is deceived about the Bible? I
mean the religious world, they don’t even really understand. Most of them don’t
understand their own Book, their own Bible, and God says if we follow after the
traditions of men we’re just doing it in vain. Even though we may talk about God and talk
about obeying the Bible, if we don’t really do it and live by every word, then our worship
is in vain, God says, and you can read that in Mark 7 and verse 7. That is the truth of your
Bible.

I mean understanding Isaiah 22:11 is really the key to understanding the whole Bible—
everything! The key to not being deceived about the Bible! God’s own people have lost
contact with the Source of God’s revealed Word! The Source of the past revelation that
they received! We have to get to the Source.

Notice verse 14. Here you see we have to get to the Source of true understanding, and we
have to get beyond human reasoning. We have to get beyond just a casual study of the

4
Bible. It has to become our life! And we have to give our life to it to obey God and
understand all this.

Verse 14: “And it was revealed in mine ears by the LORD of hosts, Surely this
[lawlessness, it should read] shall not be purged from you till ye die, saith the Lord GOD
of hosts.” So here God has some of His own people that are going to have to give their
lives and die to repent, and give their lives to God in death to prove to God that they
really do understand. And God wants to save every person He possibly can. He’s full of
love and mercy, but man just turns their back on Him so easily and doesn’t really try very
hard to understand the Source of all revelation, the Source of all truth, God, Himself! But
we have to really work hard and study hard to get beyond the shallow understanding of
men.

Notice verse 15: “Thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, Go, get thee unto this treasurer,
even unto Shebna, which is over the house, and say,” Well, what do you want to say to
him? Here’s Shebna, a man anciently who was over the house, but he’s only a type of a
man in this end time who’s over God’s House and something went terribly wrong. It’s
about a man, a personality. How many people understand that God will have personalities
in the Bible that He identifies? How many people really know that and believe it? Who is
this man, and where is he?

Well, I’ll tell you. This new booklet on Isaiah, one of the most inspiring booklets I’ve
ever written, will explain that to you, and I mean in detail.

The Bible is not real enough for people to see what God is doing, and who He’s using,
and how He’s doing His Work. This is how you gain depth, go on, you see. “The Source
of all this,” God says, “is Myself, and now I want to tell you about the Work and what’s
happening in the Work, and about three personalities.” And if you’re going to understand
the Source of the Bible, you’re going to have to understand these personalities, and what
role they play in this end time.

Shebna is the one that rebelled against God and tore down the structure of truth within
God’s own Church! And most people don’t understand that at all and yet this book—
Isaiah—is for this end time. It was written specifically for that purpose!

Well, let’s look at verse 17. It’s all for this end time. “Behold, the LORD will carry thee
away with a mighty captivity,” something terrible is coming, something dreadful, “and
will surely cover thee. (18) He will surely violently turn and toss thee like a ball into a
large country: there shalt thou die, and there the chariots of thy glory shall be the shame
of thy lord's house.” This is about God’s own House! God’s own House! And the
deception is there, as well. Most of God’s own people are deceived, and if most of God’s
own people are deceived, well, that means we have to work hard to make sure we’re not a
statistic in that group! God’s own people had all this truth, and then this man turned them
away from God! And they’re all to blame. It should never have happened, but it did
happen. This evil man did that.

But remember, you see, God is the Source of all the revelation, and then He reads you
into personalities and says, “Look, if you’re going to understand about My Work and
5
what I’m doing, you’re going to have to understand how some men were involved in that
Work in this end time.” That’s pretty clear from these verses, isn’t it?

Notice verse 20 and 21 of Isaiah 22: “ And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will
call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah:” two more personalities, (21) “And I will
clothe him [that is, Eliakim] with thy robe [that is, Shebna’s robe],” this points back to
verse 15. Shebna had to have his robe taken away because he rebelled, “and strengthen
him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand [that is, Eliakim’s
hand]: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.”
Well, now here is a personality, and it’s all talking about in that day. Here is a personality
that God said would do all these things. Well, who is he, and where is he, and what
exactly is he doing? Well, this booklet will explain all that to you, and it will show you
who’s who and how these personalities are involved. After all, it’s in the Bible! And it’s
not something I’m concocting here out of my own imagination; it’s in the Bible! And it’s
for the end time! And God says we must understand it!

Eliakim replaces Shebna, and so that makes two men, but then you have a third one here,
the son of Hilkiah. Well, who was Hilkiah? Well, he was the one that gave that water in
the old pool; there’s a lot of symbolism here. He gave the water in the old pool, or the
revelation from God in the old pool, and they had all of that wonderful understanding,
and then they lost it because they followed Shebna into a lot of evil.

I mean the Bible is such a wonderful book, and it comes ALIVE if we’ll just believe what
God says, if we’ll believe every word and prove every word, and if you do that, you can
be sure God’s going to lead you and guide you and help you in that process. He never
fails to do that!

So this end-time book is explaining this, but you can see the giant flaw of human nature
here that is depicted in this chapter very clearly, that they have this flaw. They’re not
getting through to the Source. They’re not digging in deeply enough to really see the
Source of all this material. It comes from God! It comes from God, not from a man! And
we can’t take this lightly because He’s talking about a man going into a captivity because
of his deceiving others and the evil things that he has done. And the beauty of this is it
just shows that God is ALIVE, and this is a LIVING Book! God LIVES! If we’ll just
believe Him, all kinds of miracles begin to happen in our lives! And that’s not an
exaggeration at all! And it fills you with hope as you walk with God, and you will
understand where you’re going, what life is about, you’ll be thrilled and excited about
this opportunity that God gives you, and just being a human being with all the potential to
enter into the very Family of God! What could be more thrilling than that? What could be
more wonderful?

Verse 22: “And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall
open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.” So here is an open
door, you see. If you get through to the Source and He reveals all of this truth to you,
gives you all of this revelation, then He opens up a door so you can proclaim that
message to all mankind, and hope and pray that they accept it before having to suffer so
much! Because the longer they wait, the more they have to suffer. God wants
EVERYBODY to understand this! He opens the door to ALL mankind! And He’s upset
6
with His own Church that I talked about in those early verses, because they won’t
proclaim this wonderful message, they won’t really tell you what God says from His
Book. They want a religion of man. They want a watered-down religion, which only
leads you into more and more trouble.

God reveals a powerful message. Shebna wouldn’t have anything to do with it. He didn’t
want anything to do with that, and what another man brought on the scene. He didn’t
want to be a part of that. He wanted a different religion, an easy religion, one where you
really don’t have to do much of anything, and he wanted to hear smooth things, as Isaiah
talks about in another chapter. I think it’s Isaiah 28. They wanted to hear smooth things;
they didn’t want to hear the truth of God about these personalities and what’s happening
in the Church, and so that’s where they went off the track and got far away from God.

So this new booklet will explain all that to you, and I think you will consider it a great
blessing just to have it.

Until next week, this is Gerald Flurry. Goodbye, friends.
