WELCOME SCHEDULE

FOR NEW STUDENTS

Thursday, August 23 (MOVE IN DAY)
8AM to 5PM Check into your Residence Hall

During this time students will move into their rooms. New
Students, their families, friends and guests should feel free to do
what they need in order to settle into their new space.

5PM to 6PM Welcome Convocation

Williams Auditorium We invite parents to join students and the Honors Program
faculty for the Honors Induction Tradition.

6PM to 6:30PM Peer Mentor Meet Up

Courtyard of the Arts At this time we ask that students and parents say their goodbyes
and Sciences Commons and that students meet up with their Honors Peer Mentor!

6:45PM to 8PM Welcome Dinner and Social

University Center Honors students meet for dinner and a social. This is an
opportunity to meet other students as well as program staff.

Friday, August 24 (FUN DAY)

10AM to 2PM Fun Day!

The Rock A variety of outside activities with your mentors that will help you
learn the layout of campus. Meet in front of the Rock at 10AM

2PM to 4PM Academic Classroom Tours

Here is an opportunity to go on a guided tour to your classes to

make sure you will be able to find your way on Monday.

Friday, August 24
7:30PM to 9PM Bulldog Welcome

Event includes an official address to Ferris State University

students welcoming them back to campus to kick off the 2018-19
academic year at Top Taggart Field. Ferris Dignitaries will be on
hand to talk about what it means to be a Bulldog. Attendees
should use #ImABulldog on social media.

9:30PM to 11:30PM Residence Hall Association Movie in the Quad

Saturday, August 25
2PM to 4PM Meijer Back to College ‘18

This event is sponsored by and will take place at Big Rapids

Meijer and includes bargains, giveaways, and more.

3PM to 6PM Summerfest (Downtown BR)

Join a fun time in downtown Big Rapids. Big Rapids Beginnings is

an opportunity for Ferris students to explore the many venues of
the city’s downtown area. Shuttle transportation will be provided
to local businesses in the downtown area. This event includes
prizes, sidewalk sales, carnival food, an open mic and a ferris
wheel.

9PM to 12AM UC Late Night

The University Center will host various events throughout the

building. The event includes entertainment, music, prizes and
more
