CONCLUTIONS
EXPERIMENTAL DESING • The ignition stage of combustion In Situ process presents a relevant sensibility to
heterogeneity grade changes in terms of porosity and permeability, even at the lower
heterogeneity models (CV = 0.4). The main reason for this behavour is related to the
air movement and distribution in the porous medium, also the variations of the oil
present to react afects the LTO reactions frecuency, giving as a result zones that don't
get the termperature threshold (400 ° F).
• Stratigraphic models with medium heterogeneity (CV = 0,63) and upward arrangement
presented the best permeability range for an ignition stage, due to it being countered
the segregation effects because of the hight permemeability layers were located at the
deepest zone, this produced a better contact area and air distribution, giving as a
relsult an eficient energy liberation that benefits the temperture increment until to get
the threshold (400 ° F).
SIMULATION BASE MODEL • Acording to the obtained results and literatura, it’s posible to affirm that the better
condition for an ignition stage is to have a clean sand of 40 ft present at the injecter
well vicinity because it generates a better air distributios in the porous médium and
deosn´t present flow restrictions that affect heat loses in reactions system.
