Miscarriage or abortion is the end of pregnancy before the fetus can live in the
outside world, without questioning the cause. According to WHO abortion means
the release of a fetus with fetal weight <500 grams or gestational age <22 weeks.
By type, spontaneous abortion is then divided into abortus iminens, abortus
insipien, incomplete abortus, complete abortion, missed abortion and habitual
abortion. Abortion is usually characterized by late menstruation or aminorrhea
less than 20 weeks. On physical examination the general state appears weak or
decreased consciousness. Blood pressure decreases, pulse is normal or fast and
small. Normal or increased body temperature. Vaginal bleeding, may be
accompanied by the release of the network of conception. Pain or stomach cramps
in the area of simpisis often accompanied by low back pain due to uterine
contractions. The abortion picture in Jayapura Regional Public Hospital is 70,5%
incomplete abortus with age range 16-43 years, complete abortion 16,1% with age
range 18-40 years, missed abortus as much as 11,4% with age range 23 -28 years
and abortus iminens as much as 2% with age range 25-33 years. The highest
percentage of maternal age based on the type of abortion in Jayapura Regional
Public HospitalJune 2016-July 2017 period was 36,19% incomplete abortus at 24-
31 years old, complete abortion 37,50% at age 16-23 years, abortus iminens as
many as 66,67% at age 24-31 years, missed abortus counted 47,06% at age 24-31
years and 32-39 years old.
