Array Laterolog Tool (ALT)

The High Resolution Array Laterolog Tool (ALT) provides accurate formation resistivity imaging characterization for the open hole
logging with multiple depth of investigations with 5 Detection modes. The latest array technology facilitates evaluation of beds as thin
as 1 1.8 inches (30.0 cm) and invasion profiles as deep as 50 inches (127.0cm). It uses electrode array, and the high precision circuit
design which allows multiple frequency to work simultaneously.

Standard Formation Evaluation

DESCRIPTION
ALT can acquire five apparent resistivity curves at the same time, and true formation resistivity (Rt) can be
calculated by mathematical inversion, which helps describe invasion characteristics of the formation and
formation oil saturation.

APPLICATIONS
• To detect formation resistivity of different radial depth of investigation ALT uses 5 detection modes,
• MODE1 & MODE5 : Each mode comprise of three-lateral work mode by changing the length and
sequence/position of electrodes.
• With ALT downhole status of the tool can be changed from surface software during multiple runs. By
using MODE5 (enhance mode), we can get the investigation depth over 1.5m, wherein the acquired
apparent resistivity is close to true resistivity (Rt).
• Using mathematical inversion and 2D formation model, a precise representation of two-dimensional
underground formation, and quantitative effect of invasion can be acquired. With the modeled invasion
profile True Resistivity ( Rt) can be determined even in the case of very deep invasion.

Array Laterolog Tool (ALT)

FEATURES
• The vertical resolution can reach 0.3m (11.8”), in comparison with the resolution of conventional
dual-lateral tool (0.6m, 23.6”).
• ALT works with five working frequencies and five radial depth of investigation to provide five resistivity
curves of different depths of investigation (each frequency responding to one depth of investigation).
• ALT uses hardware and software focusing as the main and auxiliary focus mode.
• ALT have Symmetric fiber glass electrode design and piston structure to achieve pressure balance
compensation, and to attain the high reliability/durability and easy & convenient maintenance.
• Easily switchable Standard and Enhance modes. The enhance mode reaches the depth of investigation
over 1.5m.
• Combinability: ALT can be run Independently and also combinable with all Gallop12 Tools
• With latest Advances in coil array design and multichannel signal processing takes resistivity information
ALT to the next level.
