Job Description:
As Director - HR, a senior management position at Arctern, you will be primarily responsible for
all core HR activities at Arctern. Your team will be required to manage all employee related issues
starting with induction to ongoing training across the spectrum of company practice areas with the
goal of ensuring our processes, work culture, and employees are capable of delivering world
class projects on-time and of the highest quality. You will be involved in supporting various
employee teams for the successful delivery of projects across multiple practice areas across
Software, BPO, ITES, and Call Centers. You will be responsible for the management of Arctern’s
HR policies and procedures which includes employee induction, orientation, event planning, and
continuing education and training. Some direct managerial and administrative responsibilities will
include ensuring high employee productivity at all times. Being a senior management & highly
responsible position, you will be required periodically to work extended hours. You will also work
closely with our VP, HR at our Corporate office in NY. Your domain of activities will include (and
not limited to):
- Core HR
o Induction & Orientation
 Out of town Employee Assistance w/ Relocation, Paying Guest/Housing
rental search
 Induction Presentation
o Periodic Employee Surveys, Feedback, Suggestions, Exit Interviews
o Employee Performance/Salary Appraisals & Promotions
o Employee Attendance, Leave , Holiday Schedule Management
o Employee volunteering & giving back to the community
o Employee Recognition & Awards Program
o Company Events Management (Anniversary Celebration, New Years)
o Maintenance of Employee Handbook & Policies
o Maintenance of Arctern’s Intranet - HR Folder
o Employee Clubs (sports, entertainment, social, volunteering, etc)
o Employee Training & Skills Enhancement (Career Planning, Continuing
Education, team building, leadership, technical)
o MIS Update
o Employee benefits management (Medical Insurance, etc.)
o Coordination with Auditors for Employee tax filings
o All Employee related statutory filings including PF, ESI, Gratuity, PT, and so on
o Ensure complete compliance across the organization with Indian employment
laws

Type of experience required:
• Highly familiar with Indian employment laws
• Ability to manage attrition below industry standards
• Keen ability to understand a businesses P&L and to align policies around a healthy
balance of employee needs and business profitability
• Experienced in managing a large, geographically distributed team
• Experience interacting and communicating with international customers a plus
• End-to-end understanding of the HR function
• Successful track record in the technology based services industry
Skills Required:
• Excellent management and execution skills
• MS-Office, E-mail, and Internet usage and research savvy – a must
• Excellent written (both grammar and substance) and spoken communication skills and
presentation skills an absolute must. Entire schooling in English medium a must – ICSE, IB,
IGCSC, or CBSE school boards a plus
• Must be personable, naturally positive, creative, and friendly
• Skilled at quality processes and/or initiatives including Six Sigma or CMM or ISO a plus
• Integrity, ambition, drive, passion, confidence, dedication, hard working – ALL A MUST
Total years of experience:
15+
Education Desired/Required:
• An MBA in HR (or Masters equivalent) from a top-tier academic institute – a must
• A Bachelors in Engineering or Computer Science – a plus
