Vision of an Effective Educator

Teachers are the heroes of tomorrow. The future is placed in their hands with
every mind they mold. The visions I have, of myself as a teacher, and my classroom as
a productive learning environment, are filled with positivity, embedded in inclusiveness,
and are poised to evolve.
Positivity and structure lay the groundwork to learning. Respect and
courteousness toward everyone at all times are absolutely essential in this
achievement, and any behavior to the contrary will not be tolerated. Rules, procedures,
routines, and organization are the bedrock to a foundation where students feel safe,
comfortable, and optimistic about the future and their role in it.
Every student, every parent, and every peer involved will be included in walking
the path to progress. As a teacher, I will ensure students of all learning abilities will have
ample opportunities to success and triumph by utilizing teaching strategies such as
scaffolding and differentiated instruction. I will stay present and educated by standing
with parents in advocacy on behalf of my students at PTA meetings and by committing
to continued professional growth in attending regular trainings alongside my peers.
In order to assist students in having meaningful and genuine engagement with all
the content being taught, I will work diligently to make it comprehensible through lesson
preparation, vocabulary building, inclusion of visuals, creative strategies, social
interaction, and practice and application. Most importantly, technology will lie at the core
of our learning, propelling our advancement forward and preparing us for the inevitable
challenges we are bound to face. We will learn to evolve and embrace change as we
journey through the expansion of our minds.
Being in the role of an educator is a powerful place to have in a student’s life, and
in Stan Lee’s words, “With great power, comes great responsibility”. I will lead by
example by keeping a positive attitude, making sure all students, parents, and peers
feel included, and evolving when necessary. If I stay true to my visions of myself as a
teacher, and my classroom as a productive learning environment, I am confident I will
excel in my role as an educator.
