Description of Ethernet connections and IP Addresses for the

SX-2000TR/AR with IMB HFR
This Notice is for servers that have been shipped after Nov. 7, 2012. Servers before this date
will use an earlier configuration, please refer to the document in the server’s packaging for the
relevant configuration. If you would like to change a server with an earlier configuration to the
current wire settings, please make the appropriate IP changes to eth1 and eth2 on the server.
You may contact GDC support staff for assistance.

1. Ethernet Configuration for IMB with HFR Support

1.1 For the SX-2000(A/T)R Server configuration, the Ethernet ports are defined as:
IMB HFR: eth1 and eth2
SX-2000 Server: eth0, eth1, eth2
Projector: Eth port
TMS Storage Server: Eth port

1.2 For the SX-2000TR/AR Server configuration, Data Transferred within the system are defined as:
Connection between IMB HFR eth2  SX-2000 Server eth1: playback transfer
Connection between SX-2000 Server eth0  Projector Eth port: communication
Connection between SX-2000 Server eth2  TMS Storage Server Eth port: TMS content transfer
 Please See Figure 1 for connection diagram at bottom of page 2.
 Supplied blue colored CAT6 cable in 3 Meters length is used for the connection from the SX-2000
server to the IMB HFR.

2. IP Address Configuration for IMB with HFR Support

IMPORTANT NOTE: SX-2000 Server using the eth0 & eth2, Projector IP and TMS Storage Server IP
cannot be in the range of 192.168.1.X or 192.168.2.X
2.1 SX-2000TR/AR Network Connections
 Server eth0  Projector Eth port (either directly or via a switch).
 Server eth2 (from the installed gigabit card)  TMS/LMS, used for transferring content as in
normal operation.
 Server eth1  IMB eth2.
 This is fixed at 192.168.1.13 and connects directly to IMB eth2
2.2 SX-2000TR/AR Network Connections
 IMB eth1 = 192.168.2.11
 IMB eth2 = 192.168.1.11
 192.168.1.12 is internally reserved.

3. Considerations
3.1 Note on IP Address:

a) Please confirm on the admin panel of the SMS interface that the Eth1 IP address is 192.168.1.13.
If this is not so, please contact GDC support staff.

3.2 Notes on SM Disconnect:

a) "Failed connecting to SM" is due to the server eth0 and projector IP using 192.168.2.X IP, which can
confuse the projector routing with IMB internal 192.168.2.X IP.
b) Failed connecting to SM can be solved by changing projector IP and server eth0 to another range
(e.g. 192.168.0.X or 192.168.3.X).

3.3 Notes on Cable Connections:

a) To provide best connectivity, it is recommended to use a high quality CAT6 cable to connect the SX-
2000 server and the IMB HFR.
b) Please ensure that these cable ends are secured. As loose wires can greatly reduce speed.
