CAUSE
Due to assembly variations, the clearance between the seat back bar garnish and the convertible
top when being open is small on some vehicles and they interfere by vibration during vehicle
driving.
Contacting
1. Remove the seat back crossmember assembly according to the procedure in the workshop
manual “SEAT BACK CROSSMEMBER ASSEMBLY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION”.
2. Adjust the position of the link bracket. (For both left and right sides)

19—29 N·m {2.0—2.5 kgf·m, 15—18 ft·lbf}

3. Attach the washers (Part number: N2Y0 R1 9YZ) to the link bracket. (For both left and right
sides)
2) Affix the washers to the surface of the link bracket by using adhesive.

NOTE: Install the washer B with the ellipsoid hole placing as shown in the illustration.

NOTE: When removing the metal fasteners of the back trim from the square holes of the seat
back crossmember, the holes may be damaged causing the noise due to loose fit of
the fasteners.
1) Select a 0.25 mm thickness fabric sheet from “Noise Repair Kit” (TA01-76-100) and cut
the sheet into 8 equal pieces of 15mm x 10mm size square.
NOTE: If “Noise Repair Kit” is not available, obtain an appropriate fabric sheet locally.

2) Clean and degrease around the four square holes of the seat back crossmember as
shown in the illustration.
3) Attach the 8 pieces of fabric sheet to the four square holes of the seat back
crossmember.

5. Install the Seat Back Crossmember Assembly only according to the procedure in the
workshop manual “SEAT BACK CROSSMEMBER ASSEMBLY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION”.
6. Reinstall the seat back bar garnish (REAR) while twisting the garnish so that the garnish can
be kept closer to the seat back bar and away from the convertible top. (For both left and right
sides)
NOTE: If the seat back bar garnish(s) is scratched, replace it with a new one.

2) Tighten the screw while twisting the seat back bar garnish (REAR) in the direction shown
in the illustration.

NOTE: If the adhesive agent has been newly purchased, claim them as a sublet
cost with the sublet code Z9.
NOTE: Claim the Noise Repair Kit as a Related Part if used.
