“PROPOSED BICOL INTERNATIONAL FAIRGROUND”

RATIONALE
The economic boom in the Bicol region, specifically in Albay province, is

expected following the construction of Bicol International Airport. Bicol was identified as

the business next hub after Davao and Cebu.

Exhibitions, Expos and Trade fairs are important parts of the marketing activities

of most types of business, ranging from the largest multinationals to small family

businesses. All evidence of the research confirms that opportunities to get face-to-face

with customers and potential future clients remain an incredibly valuable tool for

developing new business.

Even in this day and age of exciting multi-channel and internet-based

communication, the need for personal interaction has never been more important.

There is a significant value of meeting with clients and future customers in person,

experiencing that business is conducted between “real” people and moreover based on

trust. The combination of exhibitions and virtual marketing are essential components to

any company's communications strategy and ideally go hand in hand. Putting up a

fairground would be a great help in acting as a communicative environment for both

visitors and exhibitors.

A Fairground is a global function that aims at educating the public, sharing

innovation, promoting progress and fostering cooperation. It is organized by a host

country that invites other countries, companies, international organizations, the private

sector, the civil society and the general public to participate. Due to the diversity of its
participants, from top decision makers to children, diplomatic encounters, business

meetings, public debates and live shows take place at the same time.

This proposal will help boost the economy, for it will generate jobs. Aside from

economy, it can also increase tourist arrivals, and also an effective way to promote

cultures, to highlight the revival of heritage and traditions. Fairground is also a

productive environment for the participation of society, and bonding with the local

community.

“PROPOSED DARAGA TILAPIA FISHING PARK”

RATIONALE
Catching fish is not just an ordinary sport or neither a business. It can bring fun

and excitement, eliminate stress and add pleasure to eyes if there’s a perfect place to

deal with. Fishers or even people who love fishing feel that their physical and mental

well-being is enhanced by spending time outdoors.

The goal of Tilapia Fishing Park is to boost the site’s strength by developing the

lake to a “not just an ordinary fishing lake” into “a very busy beautiful fishing lake”. It’s

more fun if you have companion in catching fish; experiences shared with friends or with

your family increase social well-being. Well, fishing park will also give pleasure and

healthy living; it will educate people on how to protect the environment by enjoying the

beauty itself first.

Furthermore, The Proposed Daraga Fishing Park will also help attract numbers

of tourist and help people there to make a living and it will be a perfect destination to

start with when you are in Daraga, because it will soon be a well-developed

Municipality. Moreover, the park will provide recreational facilities that offer activities to

be enjoyed by tourists that will make the park itself a perfect activity place to deal with.
 “PROPOSED ALBAY DISASTER RELIEF MANAGEMENT CENTER”

RATIONALE

The human state in the aftermath of a crisis is at its most vulnerable, especially

Albayanos, wherein floods and other natural calamities are prominent.

The goal of disaster relief is to evaluate the needs of community and options

available for creating shelters for displaced persons in the aftermath of a natural

disaster. The solution for disaster relief is to set up a temporary site and structure

designed for efficient construction and deconstruction and to create a more permanent

solution.

After a disaster, people are concerned about their safety and security.

Architecture has the ability to provide a level of comfort through dwellings, which

provide shelter, privacy and security. Once safety and security are established, a

healing process can begin.
