Week 2 Lesson 1 Reflection

WEEK 2 LESSON 1 REFLECTION Commented [CV1]: Write all sections of your reflection from
your own perspective, rather than a third party’s. Utilise the past
tense if referring to what was carried out.
DATE: 6 AUGUST 2018

On 6th August 2018, the process of teaching and learning (T&L) can be carried out
well. All plans planned in the daily lesson plan (RPH) can be implemented properly.

Among the strengths I've seen today is that I use the types of animals that the
students already familiar with. This make them excited in participating in the classroom.
They respond so well for every question that I asked.

During my teaching today, I found out that my weaknesses were about time
management. Once reviewed, I can feel that this comes from my own problem that gives me
fewer clear directions. In a lesson, many activities are being implemented. So, I chase time
to make sure that the planned time can be fulfilled and ends in the expected time. The
instructions are too brief, making the pupil unable to understand the things that need to be
done. During the lesson, I don’t think most of them understood the instructions I gave. This is
what I see when students are doing activities. Therefore, I have to repeat the clearer
instructions and the student has to repeat the ongoing activities. Accordingly, of course my
teaching time is long. So, I have to overcome this problem so that the teaching time ends
exactly as expected.

The opportunity that I can see in this class is the surrounding is not too busy and the
students in the class is below 30 pupils. What I need to do is to give a clear direction to the
student. Clear instructions must be given to the pupil before they begin the activity. Teachers
need to ensure that students understand the instructions clearly, before start an activity.
Teachers also need to give precise and solid directions. Clear instructions are also essential
for controlling student discipline while doing what they are askedfor. So, the time set in the
daily lesson plancan be followed. This is in line with the Behaviourism Theory that puts a
positive impact on an action and that action will be repeated in the future.

The threat that I encounter today is some of the students not paying attention in the
classroom. They even turning back when I was talking. This cause other students being
distracted to. For the next lesson, I wish to change the problematic students’ seating position Commented [CV2]: Why do you think this happened?

so that they would not be talking around anymore.
