New society accepts gay adoption. Right? Wrong! Unfortunately, religion a society
doesn’t see that kind of lifestyles as a normal thing yet. However, individuals of the same
sex should have the same opportunities to have a family, because homosexual parents
don’t cause gender identity confusion, inappropriate behavior, or homosexual behavior,
there are common myths that cause the people to be misinformed and form a prejudice
toward gays.
Some people believe that gay parents influence children to become homosexual,
however, it must also be recognized that the people don’t have the power to choose
sexuality, we do not wake up one morning saying, "I'm a heterosexual." Having parents of
the same gender does not influence a child's sexual orientation because they have the
same support and are just like homosexual parents. For example, one of my best friends is
gay, and his parents are not gays, so parents' sexuality has not impact on a sexuality of the
children. However the impact in a child if he decides or not to come out of the closet is
more probable if they live in an accepting environment. In addition, in a historic study of
children raised by homosexual parents, sociologist Mark Regnerus of the University of
Texas at Austin has overturned the conventional academic wisdom that such children
suffer no disadvantages when compared to children raised by their married mother and
father.
While it is true that children can be teased if they have same sex parents, one can
also argument that children that do not have a good education in their home, can mock
even children with heterosexual parents. A 2008 study by the Gay, Lesbian, Straight
Education Network (GLSEN) in the United States found many children raised by same sex
parents had experienced or witnessed some form of homophobic harassment at school,
the children were feeling excluded because their school did not accepted their kind of
family. And that’s because sometimes the schools do not want to be involved in this kind
of topics talking about sex or sexuality in the classroom. However, children with same sex
parents generally have good relationships, which are a strong buffer against
discrimination.

Although many people claim that gay adoption is morally wrong and when a
homosexual person or couple adopts a child, the child is going to be sin, however, it must
also be recognized that the Church also teaches free will and respect others so that gays
should enjoy that respect. And, When children are loved and supported by both parents is
doesn't matter their sexual orientation, even doesn't matter what people say, the
important thing is to join in the care of other humans, even there are a lot of orphans and
making gay adoption legal will allow to help these kids, and thats better children are
growing up alone without love and care necessary for their development. In addition, in
an interview, Papa Francisco said, "if homosexual acts are sin, but no one can judge these
individuals for same sex couples if they want adopt and do so with all faith and will cause
damage or injury if the little they are allowed".

In conclusion Maybe not all the countries are prepared to legalize gay adoption,
however, our governments or the leaders should consider this possibility, because
women, men, and gays should have the same opportunities, they are human too. And,
fortunately some investigations had prove that they can be good parents, because there is
no difference between homosexual parents and heterosexual parents when it comes to
emotional health, parenting skills, and attitude towards parenting.
