Introduction
As we start the new school year 2018-2019, we are blessed because today we shall
celebrate the Holy Spirit Mass and we are happy and honored for the presence of our
dear bishop, His Excellency, Most Reverend Ricardo L. Baccay, who will celebrate
the Holy Eucharist with us.
During this Eucharistic gathering, we call on the Holy Spirit, because of Him we
acknowledge the work of renewing, showing what is good, and making us holy. With
one voice we ask the Holy Spirit to give light to our minds, strengthen our wills, our
consciences, to purify or set right our decisions, set our hearts on fire, and preserve
us from the misfortune of going against His inspirations, especially in the daily
activities of our academic life here in St. Andrew Catholic School.
As we reflect with Joy on the mystery of being known by God, of being born and
named according to his plan, we also remember that this applies to each person we
will meet today. God places in our lives the people who inspire us, who leads us
back to Jesus Christ. Each person is a true reflection of God.
Let us all stand to welcome our Mass presider , His Excellency, Most Reverent
Ricardo Baccay and his concelebrants, Reverend Father Eduardo Inacay and
Reverend Father Julius Joseph Lucero.
Prayer for the Gifts of the Holy Spirit
Holy Spirit, Divine Consoler, I adore You as my true God, with God the Father and
the God the Son. I adore You and unite myself to the adoration You receive from
the angels and saint I give You my heart and I offer my ardent thanksgiving for all
the grace which You never cease to bestow on me.
Oh, Giver of all supernatural gifts, who filled the soul of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
Mother of God, with such immense favours, I beg You to visit me with Your grace,
Your love and to grant me the gift of holy fear so that it may act on me as a check to
prevent me from falling back into my past sins, for which I beg pardon.
Gift of Piety
Grant me the gift of piety so that I may serve You for the future with increased
fervor, follow with more promptness Your holy inspirations, and observe your
divine precepts with greater fidelity.
Gift of Knowledge
Grant me the Gift of Knowledge, so that I may know the things of God and,
enlightened by Your holy teaching, may walk without deviation, in the path of
eternal salvation.
Gift of Fortitude
Grant me the Gift of Fortitude, so that I may overcome courageously all the assaults
of the devil, and all the dangers of this world which threaten the salvation of my
soul.
Gift of Counsel
Grant me the Gift of Counsel, so that I may choose what is more conducive to my
spiritual advancement and may discover the wiles and snares of the tempter.
Gift of Understanding
Grant me the Gift of Understanding, so that I may apprehend the Divine mysteries
and by contemplation of the heavenly things. Detach my thoughts and affections
from the vain things of the miserable world.
Gift of Wisdom
Grant me the Gift of Wisdom, so that I may rightly direct all my actions, referring
them to God as my last end; so that, having loved Him and served Him in this life, I
may have the happiness of possessing Him eternally in the next. Amen.

ENTRANCE SONG
SPIRIT OF GOD
Spirit of God in the clear running water
Blowing to greatness the trees on the hill.
Spirit of God in the finger of morning
Fill the earth, bring it to birth
And blow where you will
Blow, blow, blow till I be
But breath of the Spirit
Blowing in me.
Down in the meadow
the willow are moaning
Sheep in the pastureland
cannot lie still
Spirit of God
Creation is groaning
Fill the earth, bring it to birth
And blow where you will
Blow, blow, blow till I be
But breath of the Spirit
Blowing in me.

KYRIE
Presider: My brothers and sisters, to prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred
mysteries, let us call to mind our sins.
Student: Heavenly Father, we have been unmindful of the duties of our faith.
For the many times we have neglected the value of our Catholic
education, and the times we took advantage of our fellow students’
weakness instead of helping them, Lord have mercy...
Teacher: Heavenly Father, you called us to be agents of learning and wisdom.
For the many times we have abused your gift of knowledge and failed
to practice what we preach that lead young learners to confusion,
Christ have mercy…
Non-Teaching Personnel: Heavenly Father, You taught us to love our
neighbors as ourselves. For the many times we
have placed self-interest over service, complaints
over sacrifice, and dishonesty over sincerity, Lord,
have mercy…
Presider: May the Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and
bring us to everlasting life.
GLORIA (SUNG)

CONSECRATION

saying “Take this, all of you, and eat of it, for this is My body, which
will be given up for you”
In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice and, once
more giving thanks, he gave it to his disciples. “Take this, all of you
and drink from it. For this is the chalice of My blood, the blood of the
new and Eternal Covenant, which will be poured out for you and for
many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me”
