ABOUT SHIV

Personal
Shiv was raised in Sydney, Nova Scotia and he has been a resident of Kanata for
almost 30 years.

He has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Acadia University and is a

Member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario. He speaks
multiple languages, more specifically: English, French, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu.
Shiv has been married for 30 years and is a proud father of two young successful
adults.

Professional
He has 33 years of experience working in various federal government
departments. He has worked in various capacities as an owner Proprietor, Senior
Manager, Auditor, and Treasurer. Proficiency in managing multiple demands in
pressured and dynamic conditions

Accomplished team builder, manager, and developer of staff. He was a Director

for two years of the Ottawa Valley Chapter of the Society of Management
Accountants.

Volunteer

Shiv is a dedicated volunteer not only in the sport of Basketball but also for the
youth of Kanata and he was awarded lifetime membership of the Kanata Youth
Basketball Association. He was head coach for a number of years for KYBA
competitive basketball team as well as Director and Treasurer. He is the founder
and the current President of a cultural NGO involved in promoting inter-cultural
relationships and raising funds for people in need. He is a current member of the
board of directors for the Kanata-Carleton Electoral District Associations (EDA).
He has been active in the federal and provincial politics for a number of years.

INTERESTS

Basketball Tennis Golf

He loves coaching basketball and playing tennis, golf on the weekends and
watching senators hockey .
