First Annual ‘Watermelon Awards’
WTP supporters, as well as the public, are encouraged to nomi-
nate your “favorite” lawmakers for WTP’s First Annual “Water-
melon Awards.” This award “honors” to ecosocialists in public office
who are “green on the outside but red on the inside.”

“We want to recognize the radical, out-of-touch ‘watermelons’ at every

level of government,” said Executive Director Donny Ferguson.

WTP members are encouraged to nominate (from anywhere within their

own state): one member of each chamber of their state legislature, one
Congressman in each state, and one county commissioner based on which
radical member most brazenly uses environmental concerns to attack
capitalism, redistribute income and confiscate private property.

WTP will also consider nominations for a total of four Governors

nationwide to be named for the Watermelon Award. Nominations
will be closed and the “Losers” announced Aug. 31, 2010. Nomina-
tions may be sent to watermelonawards@westerntradition.org.
