Past Walks
Kinnanes Falls 24 June D/W
This walk was originally planned as a day walk to
Lizard Point. However two wise and experienced walk
leaders noted that I was attempting a longish and
navigationally challenging walk near the shortest day of
sunlight of the year, in thick forest where sunset comes
early. I decided to temporarily replace the Lizard Point
idea with a shorter walk. I only had to look on the other
side of Teviot Gap road where the country around the
base of Wilsons Peak provides good walking options.
Kinnanes Falls became the alternate walk destination.
The change of walk wasn't met with total support
(howls of anger and frustration is more accurate). But
in the end everyone agreed to go along to Kinnanes
Falls and a few more signed up as well. The six of us View to Mt Superbus MH
