Strong wire connections are important for all
cathodic protection systems. To create reliable
connections that will last for many years,
Corrpro supplies easy-to-use weld caps and
sealers. These include Royston Handy Caps®,
thermite weld caps, and Kop-Coat® bitumastic.

Royston Hand Caps are the complete weld-

connection sealers. They are designed to fit any
welded connection, and are installed simply by
pressing firmly into place. The four-inch-square
base of the cap is made from 125-mil Tac-
Tape®. Because the tape possesses exceptional
adhesive properties, it will strongly bond to a
wide variety of substrates without the use of a
primer. It is also resistant to moisture and
weathering, and will not shrink, crack, or harden
at temperatures below 0° Fahrenheit. Contained
in a plastic dome on the Handy Cap is an
elastomeric compound. The compound forms a
highly resistant insulation around the thermite
weld. This material is soft enough to mold to

Ordering Procedure
Corrpro stocks Royston Handy Caps, weld caps,
and Kop-Coat bitumastic. To order the right
connection sealer for your particular application,
indicate the type and the quantity of cap desired.
The Kop-Coat bitumastic coating is sold
separately, and is packaged in one- and five-
gallon containers. Each gallon will fill between
175 and 200 weld caps. An example is provided
to help illustrate this ordering process.
