I am Rathi. When I was young, I was very afraid of the dark. When the lights
went out, everything and every shadow seemed like monsters to me. My parents had
explained to me that there were no monsters in the world but I still felt afraid
whenever it was dark.

One day, my Aunt Megala came to visit us. She knew about my fear of the dark
and she wanted to help me to overcome it.

She told me that she was afraid of the dark like me when she was young.
Fortunately, some blind children taught her how to be brave. The blind children could
not see, so if they were afraid of the dark, they would forever be frightened their
whole life. They told her their secret to overcome fear of the dark. With eyes that
could not see, their hands are their eyes.

Aunt Megala told me that if anything made me afraid, I had to close my eyes and
get out of my bed. Then I had to see what was making me scared by using my hands
as eyes.

I did what I was told. I went to touch one of the shadows that was frightening
me. It was so soft and smooth. It was my teddy bear! Since then, I have been feeling
good about myself.

Western Sydney - A judge in Sydney, Australia found a doctor guilty of causing injury
and pain to an elderly patient.

The patient’s family thought the doctor did not give enough medication to ease the
pain of the dying patient. The judge awarded the family one and a half million dollar.

The patient’s family was not sure they could win the case. However, the judge said
the doctor was reckless and had caused the old dying patient a lot of pain.

The 85 years old man died of cancer in October 2014. He spent ten days in a local
hospital in the city. His children claimed that he had suffered too much unnecessary
pain because the doctor, Dr Robinson, refused to give him enough painkillers.

The trial lasted for three months. The family members said they did not plead with
the doctor for more painkillers because they trusted that he knew how to give
painkillers to the patient.
