DAY 2—QUANTIFIERS
 Define what “quantifier” is a word written BEFORE noun to
tell us how many of the noun there is
 We can use them with countable and mass nouns
 Give EXAMPLES (important); emphasize that there are quantifiers
used for both mass and count nouns, and quantifiers that are
used only mass or count nouns

 Differentiate between CONRETE and ABSTRACT nouns
 CONCRETE nouns you can identify using one of, or all of, your
five senses (sight, smell, touch, taste, hearing)
 ABSTRACT nouns are the opposite  cannot identify with any or
all of your five senses
 Give 5 examples of each
 GRADED RECITATION (take note of it in the blackboard so they
can see LOL / Add the points to QUIZ for this week)—Ask for
their own examples

 REVIEW of Day 1. Literally, review everything. They easily
forget lessons
 Question day, if they have any questions.

CONCRETE or ABSTRACT (20 given words, give 7-10 seconds to

WEEK 4 POSSESSIVE FORM OF NOUNS

 Define what the possessive form of nouns does  shows
belongingness or ownership between nouns
 What are the rules?  use apostrophe + s
 Give 10 sentence examples
 SEATWORK: 5 numbers. Convert phrases to possessive form (“The
trophy of John” to “John’s trophy”)

 POSSESSIVE PRONOUNS
 Define PRONOUN  replaces a noun so that you don’t have to
keep repeating the same noun; e.g. Robert  He; Sheena  She;
Clock  It
 Sample sentences (5)
 So what is a POSSESSIVE PRONOUN? It is also a pronoun in that
it replaces a noun but this time, because they are possessive,
they are used to show belongingness
 Give examples: his, her, their, its, mine, my, your, yours,
theirs, mine.

 Give definition of NOUN PHRASE  it is a phrase (more than

 Consists of a MODIFIER + NOUN  a MODIFIER changes the meaning
of a noun and makes it special or distinct from other nouns
 Give EXAMPLES (IMPORTANT); at LEAST 10
 GRADED RECITATION: Ask for volunteers to fill in the table at
the board
