After 29 years
wedding bells gaily ring
by Jolene M. Flamm
In a simple yet elegant ceremony they
gathered their family and friends in All Souls
Church to celebrate their commitment to each
other. And amid this setting of ric h tapestry
and old world elegance, Benedict Renkus and
Richard Spangler formalized a 29 ½ year
commitment of deep devotion.

If you enjoy bowling and meeting new people, then come out to the
Rose Bow l, located at 15th street and Sumner Avenue in Allentow n.
We meet at 8:45pm in front of the snack bar, and we usually bowl three
games. There is no competition, so everyone is welc omed, no matter
how good (or not so good!) you bow l. The Playdrome is now non-
smoking.
When I interview ed Jeff, Chef Alan’s brother, I learned Chef Alan graduated from
the same school I attended, The Culinary Institute of America, in Hyde Park, New
York. What a coincidence. Apparently, Chef Alan runs the kitchen aspect of the
business, and Jeff runs the front of the house. What a good combination! As Pride
members, we are proud to hold our monthly meetings at the West Reading Bistro.
Our general meetings are held the third Monday of the month at 7 P.M., in a private
dining room. I have found the food experience a great one, with friendly staff who
are very cour-
teous and
