Have four legs.

Very good!

How about the duck and bird? The duck and bird have

two legs.

Right!

Who can give me examples of animals with (pupils will give examples of

four legs? animals with four legs.

What about animals with two legs? (Other pupils who are not yet

been called will be given a

chance to answer.)

Among the animals posted on the board,

Which are living with us at home? The dog, cat and rabbit.

Correct!

What do we call animals that live with Animals that live with people

people at home? at home are called pets.

Very good!

Do you take care of your pets? Yes!

How do you take care of them? I feed my pet.

Very good!

What else? I bathe my dog.

What else? I clean the house of my pet.

Very good!

Animals are also like people who needs

food, water, and shelter in order to live.

GOVERNMENT THRUSTS:

As a grade I pupil, how can you help

Our government in reminding people

Regarding the proper way of taking care

Of our dog in order to have a clean

environment? I will ask the help of my parents

to remind our neighbors to put

their pet dog inside the kennel

or doghouse.

B.EXPLORATION AND DISCOVERY

Look at the first set of picture, what animals

Do you see in the picture? Dogs

On the left side of picture A, how many groups there are four groups of 3.

Of 3 are there?

Correct!

Who can go to the board and write in addition 3+3+3+3=12

sentence?

Class is this correct? Yes

Who can go to the board and write it in (the selected pupil will go to

multiplication sentence? The board to write

multiplication 4*3=12
How about on the right side of picture B,

How many groups of 4 are there? There are three groups of 4.

Right!

Who can go the board and write the

addition sentence? 4+4+4=12

Class is this correct? Yes

Who can go to the board and write the multiplication (The selected pupil will go to

sentence for this picture? The board to write the

Multiplication 3*4=12 under

Picture B)

Class look at the board, are the sums of

Picture A and B the same? Yes ma’am!

Correct!

What about in their multiplication sentence?

Do they have the same product? Yes ma’am!

What about their factors? Do you see any changes? Yes ma’am!

What is it? The position of the factors

change.

Correct!

Is there any changes in the product when the

position of the factors change? No, ma’am!

Very good!

Class, you have to remember that changing

The order or position of the factors does not

Change the product. And we call this a CPM!

Or commutative property of multiplication.

What do we call it class? Commutative property of

multiplication or CPM.

What is the meaning of commutative

property of multiplication? Changing the order or position

Of the factors does not change

the product.

Another picture!

What can you see in the picture? Pigs

Right!

How many groups of pig are there? There is one group of pig

Correct!

How many pigs are there in a group? There are 5 pigs in a group.

That’s correct!

Who can go to the board and write in its

multiplication sentence? 1*5=5

Class is this correct? Yes, ma’am!

Another picture!

What do you see in the picture? Birds

Correct!

How many groups of birds are there? There are 6 groups of birds.

Right!

How many birds are there

in each group? There is one bird in each group.

That’s correct!

Who can go to the board and write it in

multiplication sentence? 6*1=6

Class is this correct? Yes, ma’am!

Very good!
Class do you still remember the rule in

Multiplying any number by 1? Yes, ma’am!

What is that rule? Any number multiplied by one

Is equal to the number itself.

Very good!

So, you have to remember that multiplying

A number by 1 gives a product that is equal

To the same number and we call it as IPM or

Identity property of multiplication.

What do we call this property of

multiplication? IPM or identity property

of multiplication.

What is the meaning of identity property of

Multiplication or IPM? Any number multiplied by 1 is

equal to the number itself.

Now, look at the next picture, what

Can you see in the picture? Nests

Right!

How many nests are there? There are 5 nests.

How many birds do you see on each nest? None

Correct!

Who can go to the board and write it in

multiplication sentence? (The pupil will go to the board

And write 5*0=0

Class, do you still remember the rule

In multiplying any number by zero? Yes, ma’am.

What is that rule? Any number multiplied by zero

Is equal to zero.

Correct!

Any numbers multiplied by 0 is equal to 0.

We call this as ZPM or zero property of multiplication.

What do we call this property class? ZPM or zero property of

multiplication.

Very good!

What is the meaning of zero property of

Multiplication? Any number multiplied by 0 is

equal to zero.

C. ABSTRACTION AND GENERALIZATION

Based on our discussion this morning,

What is our lesson all about? Properties of multiplication.

What are the properties of multiplication? Commutative, identity, and zero

Properties.

Correct!

What do you mean commutative

property of multiplication? Commutative property, means
Changing the order or position
Of the factors does not change
the product.

Correct!
What about Identity property of multiplication? Identity property means any
Number multiplied by 1 is
equal to the number itself.
Correct!
How about the zero property of multiplication? Zero property of multiplication
Means any number multiplied
By zero is equal to zero.
