Diet 3 is the most balanced, because it has a selection of each of the major food groups,
meats, grains, dairy, fruits and vegetables, and a small amount of fat. Diet 1 is missing a
portion of vegetables, and diet 2 is missing a portion of meat (or proteins).

Smoking is harmful because cigarette smoke contains many (over 4000) different
chemicals, some of which are known carcinogens, which means that they are known to
cause cancer. When smoke enters the lungs, it leaves deposits of tar and other residue on
parts of the lungs, including the bronchioles and the alveoli, which makes it difficult for the
lungs to absorb oxygen, or exchange carbon dioxide.
