Objetivos del equipo de proyecto

• CREATE the design information in a 3D model format using discipline-

based tools that support design coordination, analysis, and
interoperability of data for use through manufacture and construction
then into operations.
• COLLABORATE at all stages of the project using the BIM model as the
basis for review, evaluation and comment.
• CONTROL the management of the works using the BIM model to support
estimating, scheduling, logistics, and commissioning.
• USE the BIM model and the associated works information across all
functions and disciplines by distributing data to all parties from a
common data environment (CDE).
• CONTRIBUTE additional information to the model throughout the project
lifecycle by all teams to build a complete project information resource to
optimize handover for operations.

Usos BIM del proyecto

• LOD 200: Creation of a LOD 200 model to reproduces the information of

the GMS and replicate the overall geometry of the project provided in
the contract documents prior to the application of system details in the
model. Due to the project time schedule, LOD200 Model is not included
on this BEP.
• Design Authoring: The creation of the design in a virtual Model to LOD
300 for Issued for Construction design information, to LOD 400 for shop
drawing coordination, and to LOD 500 for as-built.
• Engineering Analysis: Utilizing the Model for engineering design analysis
and calculation either directly in the BIM authoring software or through
an exchange of the Model in a compatible format, particularly for
structural design. The DESIGN SUBCONTRACTOR shall clearly indicate
what models would be produced by this process and indicate the
enhancement to the original Model.

• Drawing Generation: The creation from the Model of the DESIGN

SUBCONTRACTOR’S drawings.
• Data Sheets and Schedules Preparation: The automatic creation of
DESIGN SUBCONTRACTOR’S deliverables, where design information
(including non-geometric Attributes) contained in the Model, have to be
collated, scheduled or tabulated.
• Interference Management (Clash Checking): The use of software that
can identify spatial interferences with objects inside a model and with
objects in other models. Clash Checks are to be performed, recorded and
stored in accordance with the CONTRACTOR’S BIM Clash Checking
Procedure.
• Engineering Design Progress: The recording of design progress by
including an LOD Attribute against each modeled object.

• Interactive Design Reviews: The use of the BIM Model for design
reviews, including formal design reviews prior to the contractual
milestone submission dates set out in Exhibit “B” – Special Conditions.
• Visualization: The production of rendered images or animations from the
Model.
• Construction and Installation Sequencing 4D Simulations: The
production of 4D simulation animations or graphics created by linking
the Model to an electronic version of the project schedule to illustrate
the sequence of installation of the DESIGN SUBCONTRACTOR Services in
coordination with the Works, including works by others. Individual
sequences may be associated with method statements and show
particular installations or generic sequences.

• Quantity Take-Off (QTO): The extraction of measured material,

equipment and bulk quantities from the Model in a structured format
that is aligned and compatible with the CONTRACTOR’S BOQ and WBS.
Shop Drawing Coordination: The maintenance of the DESIGN
SUBCONTRACTOR’S BIM Model, at LOD 400, in coordination with
Suppliers and Sub-Contractors Shop detailed BIM Models.
• Records Modeling (As-Built): The production of a field-verified record
Model of the as-built condition of the DESIGN SUBCONTRACTOR’S
Services at LOD 500.

There is no direct link between files located in the CDE and the
files on the server of Client or other Consultants. The files
located in the CDE are commonly called “Frozen files”.
