Bible Studies
We love studying God’s Word and sharing it with others. There are so many great studies out there to
guide us to a deeper relationship with God. And we enjoy looking for the studies with specific focuses,
like young moms, to help share the hope and faith that we can have in God to lead us through every little
aspect of life. The support and encouragement that we share in our small groups is a wonderful remind-
er of how God hugs our hearts and loves on us individually. We are so thankful for the studies that God
has brought to us. And we are always seeking other studies to follow. Please let us know if you have any
suggestions for our future classes!

Skills Classes
Our Skills Classes continue to draw new ladies from all over. Some of our long-time students work on projects
at home and come to class less frequently. We are happy to have them coming to learn new techniques and
new projects.

We never know how many ladies will be in each class, so it never gets routine. Every class is a blessing. In one
class, there were 6 ladies sitting in rocking chairs around the coffee table doing crochet, embroidery and plastic
canvas. Just rocking and talking and stitching. We talked about everything from marriage and kids, to dreams
for the future, to how God has brought us through hard times… it was a very special class time.

It is very satisfying to discover and use the gifts and talents that God has given us. Another way to celebrate
Him!!

Vickie has collected all of her personal documents to apply for
residency. Only one more document for the ONG is pending. As
soon as that government office provides the document to be
completed, the application file can be submitted to Migracion.
As with most government offices (no matter what country) there
can be delays beyond our control. But it will all happen in God’s
timing. Keep praying for His favor in this process.
Vickie is embarking on a healthier lifestyle (again). Turning 60
has not been kind. Lol Please keep her in your prayers for God’s
guidance and strength and perseverance for this important life-
style change. Sofi is joining in on this healthier lifestyle, too!
Also, pray for language classes for Vickie (Spanish) and Sofi
(English), as they focus on becoming completely fluent in each
other’s language. Victoria seems to learn both with ease, so it’s
important to speak correctly for her little ears to learn.
Thanks for the continuing prayers for our little family!

Sofi & Victoria
Sofi continues to attend high school on Saturdays. Vickie and Victoria are starting
some fun traditions during their ‘Mimi and Me’ time while Momma is at school.
Victoria has completely left ‘our baby girl’ stage and is turning into such a strong,
confident, curious personality! She’s like a sponge, watching, listening and learn-
ing everything that goes on around her. We are trying to have more time for her
to be around kids. She’s got the adult thing down pat. Lol
Sofi is involved with a small group of moms at our church. Victoria is learning
to love the Children’s Church time. Sofi continues her personal Bible study, as
well as a study with Vickie. And has started the Young Moms small group here
at LGM house. She’s a busy and dedicated young lady.
Sofi is starting a little side business of selling her jewelry. It’s called Estilos So-
fia (Sofia Styles) and will have a facebook page of its own soon. Even in her
busy schedule, she finds time to help support herself and Victoria.
Sofi’s school year will end in November. (December and January are vacation
time from school).
Sofi and Victoria will both start school again in February. Sofi’s last year of
high school and Victoria’s first year of preschool (3 year old).

Heather Butcher—July Intern

Heather Butcher, from Arkansas, came to work with us for 2 weeks in July. She helped Sofi with the Young
Moms event, helped prepare many things for on-going classes, accompanied Sofi on many errands and shop-
ping excursions in the market, attended Skills classes, and generally loved on us.
Heather is a preschool teacher in the states and blessed us all with her knowledge and suggestions on raising
happy kids! She is a hair stylist on the side, so she also cut, colored and straightened hair for our family and
friends, as well as, most of the ladies in classes during those two weeks.
She said that she felt very blessed being here in Nica and getting to slow down and let God speak to her during
that time. We were blessed to have her here and can’t wait to have her back again!
