Sustainable Architecture
Thesis statement: Sustainable architecture is architecture that seeks to minimize the
negative environmental impact of buildings. The idea of sustainability is to ensure that
our actions and decisions today do not inhibit the opportunities of future generations.by
efficiency in the use of materials, energy, and development space.
2. Green bulding
Thesis statement: Green building is a building designed specifically with the theme of
environmentally friendly, energy-saving, the layout is simple but not boring, quality
grade and environmentally friendly material. The implementation of green building is one
of the efforts to prevent global warming is causing the Earth is getting hotter. To
accomplish this, there are several aspects that must be considered in a green building,
which from the aspect of materials, energy efficiency and health aspects.
3. Tropical house
Thesis statement: Indonesia is a country with a tropical climate. To achieve optimal
comfort in response to an absolute tropical climate should be applied at a home stay.
Abundant sunshine and high rainfall are the two main factors that should not be
overlooked, even should be utilized optimally. To optimize it, to be aware of such things
as the use of material, shape of the roof, as well as the types of openings in a building.
4. Creating micro climate
Thesis statement: A Micro-Climate is what you would consider to be the small
differences throughout an environment. No matter where you are you can create
microclimates. However, before making a microclimate, you should know a few things,
the kind of climate in your area, what plants can flourish in the area, as well as the
selection of appropriate construction materials.
5. Healthy house
Thesis statement: The increasing human population in the world, resulting in reduced
availability of clean water and fresh air. It resulted in the level of human health is
declining. Given these events, healthy home is one right solution to creating a healthy
environment near us without having to look away. To meet the need for clean water and
fresh air, healthy home should have to have a good opening system, has a garden, and of
course should be in an environment that many crystal clear streams.
6. Tenganan traditional village
Thesis statement: Pegeringsingan Tenganan village located in the district of Manggis,
Karangasem regency. Tenganan is a village that still apply the rules and customs of their
ancestors. Residents familiar with the rules of a village called awig awig. Tenganan
 village still retains his trademark of antiquity from the shape of the house, its traditions,
and ways of subsistence of their citizens.
7. Balinese traditional house
Thesis statement: Bali traditional house is one of the implementation of the concept of tri
mandala which is Uttama mandala, madya mandala, and nista mandala. Rules of
construction of traditional Balinese house already written in Asta Kosala Kosali so in
development should not be arbitrary. Like the proper size, location, and alignment of
types of buildings
8. 3R in building design
Thesis statement: Application of the system 3R (Reuse, Reduce, and Recycle) into one
solution in keeping the environment around us is cheap and easy to do in addition to
process waste into compost or utilizing waste into a power source. Therefore, the
implementation of the 3R concept is also applied in designing a building. By
implementing the 3R concept that we will benefit in terms of economic, environmental,
and health.
9. Green material (bamboo)
Thesis statement: Bamboo is not more difficult to obtain building materials. Material
when compared to wood, bamboo is more easily searchable. Bamboo has several
advantages when compared with wood. An advantage of using bamboo as a building
material, among others, the growth time, the content of nutrients in bamboo, and the
benefits for the environment.
