reading, and writing. And in this research the writer wants to analyze about
speaking. Nowadays the people should know to speak, not only in their native
language but also in the foreign to face the global era where the market need the
communication competence from every people. However, to learn the foreign
language is not easy as same as learning native language.
Nowadays, the students’ must improve their vocabulary because in their school,
they are not only learning vocabulary in English lesson, but also in other books,
there are also some English vocabularies that must be known by students’.
Sometimes the students’ are difficult to know, to understanding and memorize the
vocabularies. In improving students’ vocabulary, the students’ need some method
or technique that can help them.
To solve this problem the teacher needs game namely picture is a simple media
that can help the students’ in learning vocabulary, because it’s easy to play and
fun for them. This activity to test the students’ ability to define the word. When
study with book may make them bored, but it may make them to be creative and
happy.
Based on researcher experience while doing her Teaching Practice Program (PPL)
most of students’ still have a little vocabulary, because they are think that study
english is very difficult to remember and bored. It needed a game so that study
english may add their vocabulary become more fun, interesting and easier. The
researcher found that most students’ still have difficulties in learning vocabulary.
Vocabulary is the main material of English lesson in the school. The students’ had
difficulty in remembering the meaning of vocabularies. The students’ were not
interested in English class. In teaching learning process some students’ did not
pay attention to the teacher. They were chatting in the class, day dreaming or
playing their writing equipment when the teacher explained the material or gave
exercise. The students’ also did not respond well to the teacher explanation and
instruction. Only some students dominated the activities in the class.
Finally, based on the writer experiment, the writer choose SMP NEGERI 2
SIANTAR to conduct the research. That why the writer is interested in choosing
this title because the writer wants to identify and analyze the effectiveness of the
students’ vocabulary mastery by picture media. The writer wants by the technique
that she made, the students’ will be more interesting to learn English, and they
