Introduction :
Aerovac model “AV 11 series” (opposite blade) and “AV 22 series”(parallel blade) rectangular Volume Control Dampers (VCD)
with single skin & double skin aerofoil blades are widely used in heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Unique
construction and manufacturing technique coupled with superior design make the series AV 11 & series AV 22 damper quiet &
reliable giving conditioned controlled air volume to various zones.

Description : Mechanism for drive operation

• The frame is constructed from galvanized steel sheet.(Also available in

aluminium & stainless steel construction)
• Blades are coupled by external concealed linkage / Gear Drive, which can
be provided in either opposed or parallel blade operation, Blades can be
provided with either single skin or double skin based on the requirement.
• Linkage rods are coupled with hand locking quadrant frame in a “open &
closed” marking. Hand locking quadrant frame is marked to show exact
position of damper
• Structure is available with flange edge and supplied undrilled as standard.
• Designed for HVAC systems.

2. Double Skin

Locking Quadrant
(12mm Standard and 2.47 Optional)
Made from GI die cut, locking quadrants give
greater leverage than plastic handles making
them easier to operate.
They also incorporate a visual position indicator,
& locking mechanism by way of a wingnut.

AEROVAC NON RETURN & PRESSURE RELIEF DAMPER (NRD / PRD)

Operation :
AEROVAC Non Return Dampers are designed for automatic shutoff & prevent unwanted airflows against the intended airflow
direction when the system is not in operation of Individual sections of the air conditioning system. With the fan running, the degree
of blade opening is a function of air velocity. If the fan is turned off, the blade will close automatically. In a multi fan installation system
this prevents back draught through the non operating fan. NRD provides backdraft protection in light to medium duty applications that
demand less than 12 cfm per square foot of leakage at 1/2 inch WG. NRD provides system relief when operational pressures exceed
system defined maximum levels.

Pressure-relief dampers are used to prevent backflow through ventilation ductwork system. The Aerovac pressure relief dampers do
not need an actuator or motor. Designed to maintain a constant air pressure level inside pressurized rooms. The blades are smooth,
reliable and designed for energy saving. These are air operated, opening or closing dampers for intake, discharge and pressure relief
vents in air conditioning. The dampers can be installed in rectangular or circular ducts horizontally or vertically. Opening pressure can
easily be set by adjusting weight of each damper/ installation. Weights are included in the delivery. Pressure relief dampers can be
supplied with non-standard dimensions on request.

AEROVAC NRD/PRD
