Tribhagi Dasha:

Tribhagi dasha divides the vimshottari span by 3. Tribhag means to divide by three. When you divide
the span by 3, you cover only 40 years when Moon progresses from Ashwini to Ashlesha; the next 40
years are covered when Moon progresses from Magha to Jyeshtha and the last 40 years are covered
when the Moon progresses from Moola to Revati.

As a result, you cover the entire zodiac. All dashas get divided by three and are repeated thrice in a
span of 120 years. You get the dasha of Sun, Moon etc. thrice in your lifetime. Each time the dasha
corresponds to a different nakshatra and a different sign. Depending on which sign the progressed
Moon is and which nakashtra it is in, the actual results of the dasha varies.

The tribhagi dasha is a brilliant interpretation of Vimshottari dasha and at times can be used to make
predictions with amazing accuracy which exceeds even the Vimshottari dasha. However, if you are
not familiar with the concept of progressed Moon and the basic structure of dasha systems, using
the Tribhagi dasha and its practical application would be difficult.
