what makes you come alive, and go do
that. What the world needs is people
who have come alive." -Howard Thurman
Friends,

Summer 2018 was full of giggles and growing pains, books and flashcards, homemade pretzels
and salsa, and countless moments of transformation. From the beginning of staff training until the
day they moved out, our young adults engaged the community with their whole selves.

Finding what makes us come alive is never easy. With your support, however, we came to life in
the best possible way. The numbers speak for themselves - how amazing to know that every
single one of our kids went back to school prepared for reading in the fall! Beyond the numbers,
however, are the tiny transformative moments that changed lives.

Our young adults found healing in sanctuaries where they had previously experienced harm. Our
volunteers found new ways to stretch themselves and give back to the community. Our
participants made new friends from 20 different schools and at least 4 different countries. I hope
that you see in this report what I see: a beautifully woven community fabric, making each fiber
stronger simply by allowing church to be something a little bit different.

As we look toward the future, we hope to double all of the numbers that you have read. We want
to help children be better friends, families see church as a center of community, young adults find
their calling in the world, and volunteers find places of reconnection in the slow days of summer.

I am filled with gratitude for where we have been and joy for where we are headed. More than
anything, I want you to be a part of our story as we spread love in this great big world and
transform communities through relationships.

In love and hope,

Rachel Neer
Executive Director
