 Type cannot be smaller than 12-point with a minimum line spacing of 1.5 lines.

What is required to become an NHS member?

Admission and continued membership into the NHS is an honor and must be earned.

Members must:
 Achieve high leadership and character ratings based on faculty and community recommendations.
 Agree to complete 10 hours of community service.
 Agree to follow school code relative to academic honesty, school responsibilities and club / organization
behavior code.
 Have and maintain a minimum numeric average of 3.5 (unweighted).
 Attend all NHS meetings and mandatory events.

How are the candidate’s leadership and character evaluated?

Faculty Selection Council will meet and review each candidate’s application, resume, and personal and short
answer responses.

The NHS sponsors and the NHS executive board members do not participate in nor do they influence the selection
process in any way.

October 5 Notification of Acceptance

Tuesday, October 3 Induction Ceremony @5:00 (Mandatory for those accepted into NHS)

 I will participate in the formal induction ceremony Monday, October 15, 2018 at 6:00 pm.

 I will attend regularly scheduled meetings of National Honor Society.

 I will participate in at least one committee and complete the code of conduct form.

 I will participate in service projects required by National Honor Society.

 I will adhere to the Standards of Participation set by Orcutt Academy High School.

 I will pay $25 dues to be used for chapter projects/activities (due by October 31, 2018).

I am willing to make a commitment to the National Honor Society of Orcutt Academy High School. I
understand that my membership may be revoked if I do not meet these obligations.
