SUMMARY :
In Japan, more and more women avoid marriage trap. The Japanese love children but
their fertility rate has fallen sharply. This is a contradiction in this country. For the
past two decades, the Japanese have not produced enough children to replace the
parent generation. The reason makes children scare is that Japan’s young women
don’t hurry to be servant of men. Two decades ago, most Japanese women were
married in their middle 20s. From 1970 to 1990, the single rate increases quickly. In
the end, women do succumb to marriage, there are not many single women by the age
of 40 to 44 but later marriage don’t leave much time for having children. So, why put
marriage off ? there are many factor that make marriage unattractive for Japanese
women. The first, marriage, for the young women, means giving up both their jobs
and their comforts. In addition, while they are single, most of them work and live at
home with their parents. This gives them plenty of spare cash. They don’t have to do
much housework. The second, when Japanese women get marry, their life become
difficult, there are not many mothers with infants manage to continue in full-time
work
