3.  Reserve Bank of India (RBI) approved PayU India to operate its
own non-banking financial company (NBFC).

4.  State Bank of India appointed Prashant Kumar as the Chief


Financial Officer (CFO) of the Bank.

5.  BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) and NSE (National Stock


Exchange) have received approval from SEBI (Securities and
Exchange Board of India) to launch commodity derivatives segment from
1st October 2018.

(LSEG) signed a pact on a dual listing route
for masala bonds as well as foreign currency
bonds of Indian issuers.

2. Fitch Ratings in its Global Economic


Outlook report increased India’s growth

3. Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDAI) raised


the minimum insurance cover for owner-driver to Rs.15 lakh for a
premium of Rs.750 per annum.

4. Infosys acquired Finnish company Fluido, a top consulting partner of


Salesforce, for 65 million euros (about Rs 545 crore).

5. Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins has signed two agreements with state-
run telecom firm BSNL and Niti Aayog related to technology and
innovation.

6. German insurer Allianz signed up as a global Olympic sponsor for


a 4-Games period of 10 years between 2021 and 2028.

4.  UN’s annual multi-agency flagship report on the State of Food


Security and Nutrition in the World, hunger remains the same as was
ten years ago in 2017. The increase from 777 million to 821million
hungry people in 2017.

5. Credit Suisse Family 1000 in 2018’ study, published by Credit Suisse


Research Institute (CSRI), India ranked third globally in terms of a number of
family-owned companies. India has a total of 111 companies and $839
billion total market capitalization. India follows China (159
companies) and the US (121 companies).
6. Vice President Venkaiah Naidu presented “Rajbhasha Kirti”
award to Punjab National Bank on the occasion of Hindi Divas. It
received the award for outstanding performance in implementing the
Official Language Policy during 2017-18.

7. Kerala Tourism bagged two prestigious gold awards of the Pacific


Asia Travel Association (PATA) for its innovative marketing campaigns.

8. The all-women crew of INSV Tarini has won the Tenzing Norgay

inaugurated by Union Minister for Railways and Coal, Shri Piyush
Goyal in New Delhi.

Investment Ministerial Meeting, held in Mar del Plata in Argentina.

The theme for the G-20 Trade and Investment Ministerial Meeting

6. The second edition of Nepal-China joint military exercise ‘Mt


Everest Friendship Exercise’ began in southwestern Sichuan province of
China.

7. 7th UNWTO Global Summit on Urban Tourism was held in Seoul,


capital of South Korea from 16 to 19 September 2018. The theme of the
summit was ‘A 2030 Vision for Urban Tourism’.

8. India and Russia joint air exercise Avia Indra 18 was held in
Lipetsk, Russia. The second session of Avia Indra 18 will be conducted in
Jodhpur,

Accidental death from Rs.1 lakh to Rs.2 lakh, and Partial disability losing
either a limb or an eye, from Rs.50,000 to Rs.1 lakh.

5. First-ever Mizoram International Short Film Festival (MISFF) was


inaugurated by Mizoram Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla at the Aijal
Club in Aizawl, Mizoram.

6.  Book “Kashi: Secret of the Black Temple” written by Vineet


Bajpai was launched in New Delhi. The first two books are: “Harappa:

7.14th report “HIV Estimations 2017” released by Health and Family Welfare
Ministry, Maharashtra has the highest number of people living with
HIV in India.

8.  India’s first underwater robotic drone –EyerovTUNA was


launched and handed over to the Naval Physical and Oceanographic
Laboratory (NPOL) of DRDO. It was developed by EyeROV Technologies
at Maker Village.

9.  For the first time in India, a dedicated dog park has been set up in
Hyderabad.

10. Germany launched the world’s first hydrogen-powered train with


costlier but eco-friendly technology.

11. Cyclone-30, the biggest cyclotron in India for medical


application became operational in at VECC, Kolkata. It is under the
Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) and will be commissioned in 2019.

12.  A bilateral meeting on Tourism Cooperation between India and


Morocco was held in New Delhi.

13. Smart fence’ pilot project was inaugurated by Union Home

history by climbing Asia’s highest volcanic peak Mount Damavand
