To Whom It May Concern:

I am a university graduate with bilingual fluencies (English, Spanish); experience as a university lecturer,
teaching associate, and classroom aide. With over two years of experience working with culturally diverse
students, building upon a classroom’s prior knowledge is important in creating a comfortable space which
allows the sharing of respective opinions. I have taken it upon myself to emphasize to a class that
rhetorical awareness and confidence are instrumental in developing the foundation of academic writing.
But like any other ability, it takes time, revision, and cooperative learning for all writers to flourish not
only as students, but as individuals.

Raised in the U.S. by immigrant parents, I have benefitted greatly from my upbringing in which both
English and Spanish were spoken in our home. At a young age, I grew an affinity for reading and writing,
as I loved to engage with both stories and news articles that allowed me to question the information that
was presented to me. Before long, I was excelling in my education with fundamentals in composition that
have led me to surpass great heights such as becoming a published author on top of earning a University
Master’s degree in Literature. These experiences have cemented my passion for teaching, writing, and
working with aspiring young minds alike.

Having been employed as a Student Instructional Leader and Teaching Associate under the tutelage of Dr.
Irene Clark and Dr. Anne Kellenberger, where I often worked with English language learners, I find
reward in empowering students through creative lesson plans and higher-order thinking skills that
transfer through differing curriculums. It is essential to remind students as to why learning skills such as
business writing, creative problem-solving, or basic reading comprehension skills are not only relevant to
any career, but vital within the ‘real world’ through advertising, report writing, and an understanding of
cultural diversity. With encouragement and influence, I have come to learn that focused engagement with
students of any age or grade level not only creates a trusting teaching environment but evokes exigence
within students that seek to succeed in their academics. It is my goal to combine my range of experience
with a diverse student population into a positive contribution not only within a classroom, but as part of a
larger societal community.

I am interested in this opportunity that will surely present new experiences and challenges. I am available
any time of the week with a flexible schedule and will gladly adhere to any further information needed.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Neftali Adame, M.A.
