a. PLACE
 Emergency rooms (ER) in hospitals have association with hospital deaths

Explanations : As a matter of course, patients who are admitted to the emergency

room are people who are in critical conditions. These acute patients
require immediate treatment from medical practitioners. If they weren't
able to receive treatments on time, it will result to death. There are
several factors that may lead to the failure of receiving immediate
treatment. The first one is the low-level of staffing in the emergency
room. There may also be lack of professional doctors and nurses who
are more experienced. Not only those, the inadequate equipment, beds,
supplies and drugs may also cause a long-overdue treatment. In

b. PERSON
 Patients with certain medical conditions have association with hospital deaths

Explanations : Patients with certain medical conditions would be a problem when it

comes to hospital deaths. This is because there might be misdiagnosis
by doctors in the hospital. Therefore, the patients would not be able to
receive proper treatment. Besides, some medical conditions might be
rare genetic disorders or rare diseases, and perhaps there is
insufficiency of doctors who are competent to diagnose and treat the
patients. The protocols needed to be done to treat those patients are also
very complex. Besides, there are some medical conditions that are
classified as urgent or emergency cases. Thus, the failure of patients to
be treated on time would result in loss of life.

 Patients with average age of 51 years old have association with hospital deaths

Explanations : Elderly people, specifically 50 years old and above, are not as healthy
as young people. As they get older, their bodies would start to get weak
and many health problems would arise. And before that, they might
already suffer from diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure and etc.
This is because those elderly usually have unhealthy lifestyles since
they are still young, such as unhealthy diet, drinking alcohol and
smoking. These problems could trigger death. In addition to the above,
old people have a tendency to refuse to do medical check-ups and

if they have anything wrong in their bodies without a routine check-up.
As a result, they might get delayed detection of health problems and
delayed treatments.
 Infants have association with hospital deaths

Explanations : Newborn infants are weak and they tend to get infected from diseases.
And once they are infected, complications develop and spread fast to
the whole body. Furthermore, when infants get sick, they would not be
able to explain how they are feeling, and so it is difficult for doctors to
diagnose. Since they are still weak, they need to be taken care with
caution. And due to that, doing check-ups, feeding foods and giving
 Patients who overdose on drugs have association with hospital deaths

Explanations : There are varied reasons for people to overdose on drugs; they may be
intentional or accidental. The intentionally done drug overdose is
known as suicide, in which a person purposely cause his/her own death.
Other than that, they may also have low medical knowledge. They
believe if they consume drugs at a numerous amount, they would have
a speedy recovery. While accidental overdose may happen because
they consumed drugs by mistake. Overdosing on drugs can be very
dangerous, which can cause toxic state and even death. Therefore, the
patients need immediate treatment. Antidote will also be given for
 Children some
have association with hospital
overdose cases. If they deaths
weren't being able to receive treatment
and antidote on time, it will result to death.
Explanations : It's a matter of fact that children are really difficult to deal with.
Usually if they are sick, they refuse to go to the doctors, because they
are afraid of medications and injections. This behavior would be a big
problem, as they wouldn't be able to get treated immediately and the
illness may get worse. Children may also have weak communication
skills; they are unable to explain their conditions, thus making it
difficult for doctors to diagnose. Aside from that, the other factors may
be consequence of family problems, such as financial problems, low
medical knowledge and low-awareness of parents. Hence, the parents
would not be able to give their children the proper care their children
c. TIME needed.
 Weekends (Saturdays & Sundays) have association with hospital deaths

Explanations : Most people do not work on weekends. And if they were sick, they'd
usually wait until weekend to get treated in hospitals. However,
because of the crowds of patients going to the hospital on weekends,
the other patients would have to postone their treatment to weekdays.
This would result to delayed treatment, and the sickness may get worse
