TITLE:AUTOMATED RAILWAY SECURITY SYSTEM USING WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY |
DURATION: JAN 2017 – MAY 2017
Description: The maintenance and security of Railways, the vital artery of national communication and
economic progress has been a major concern of the Government. Since railways have a linear territory
traversing inter-state lines, a foolproof security system has been hard to provide. In order to overcome
this drawback different types of equipment‟s are used that allow better supervision and control of the
various events that may occur during its operation. Managing unmanned railway gate crossing using
motion sensors and stepper motor for automatic railway gate operation. Detection of obstacle on the
railway track using IR radiations which is mounted on the front of the train head that detects obstacles
while moving forward to avoid collision by applying emergency breaking system. In case of emergency
like theft, manual switches are provided which stops the train, fire and smoke sensors are provided for
the safety of the passenger to sense the fire/smoke which may cause due to circuit brake, electrical short
circuit that lead to fire accidents. The GSM technology is used to indicate the nearby station about the
situation
· of the train and its arrival duration.

· Participated in national level inter college project competition pratira 2017.

TECHNOLOGY | DURATION” published in international journal of latest engineering research and
applications vol.02, issue 05, May 2017.
