2. Trenche Work (Exavation with Palisading and Filling with Compaction)
2.1 PWD Schedule 2018 Earth work in excavation in all kinds of soil for foundation
Item No. 02.1 trenches including. layout, providing center lines, local bench-mark
pillars, leveling, ramming and preparing the base, fixing bamboo
spikes and marking layout with chalk powder, providing necessary
tools and plants, protecting and maintaining the trench dry etc.,
stacking, cleaning the excavated earth at a safe distance out of the
area enclosed by the layout etc. all complete and accepted by the
Engineer, subject to submit method statement of carrying out
excavation work to the Engineer for approval. However, Engineer’s
approval shall not relieve the contractor of his responsibilities and
obligations under the contract.

2.1.1 PWD Schedule 2018 Layout and marking for earthwork in excavation in foundation sqm 13,545.00
Item No. 02.1.1 accepted by the Engineer. [Trench area shall be considered for
measurement]
2.1.2 PWD Schedule 2018 Earthwork in excavation in foundation trenches up to 5.5 m depth cum 43,617.27
Item No. 02.1.4 and maximum 10 m lead: in very stiff (hard) clayey soil/ rubbish etc.

2.1.3 PWD Schedule 2018 Bailing out trapped water caused by inundation due to seepage hour 1,080.00
Item No. 02.19.1 or rain, by a 1 cusec diesel operated pump from trenches where
documentation on rain fall, seepage rate, volume of inundation shall
strictly be made.
2.2 PWD Schedule 2014 Shore protection work during excavation (east side of the trench) sqm 9,665.00
Item No. 02.7.2 in foundation trenches to protect loss due to damage of property by
Palisading beyond 1.5 m depth accepted by the Engineer [the rate
is including cost of vertical post, horizontal wooden plank and
removal]

2.3 Shore protection work by sheet piling (U sheet pile, 12m length, rm 1,933.00
12mm thickness and 400mm wide) including runner driving, lifting,
welding, including all other items etc. 140 rm segment (horizontally)
along the railway track side (west side of the trench) will be driven
segment by segment. The trench will be excavated and GRP pipe
laid. After completion of laying 140 segment the pile will be
withdrawn and placed in the next segment for excavation and pipe
laying. This will be continued until the total length is covered (2 km).
The contractor will take away the piles after completion of the works.

2.4 PWD Schedule 2018 Supply and laying 2 mm thick Geo-textile of approved quality sqm 12,908.13
Item No. 02.8 and origin/manufacturer as per manufacturer’s instructions
approved and accepted by the Engineer.
Before commencing laying of Geo-textile, the Contractor must
submit the method statement for carrying out this work including
sample with evidence of origin and compliance certificate from
independent testing laboratory for approval. Geotextile will be
anchored at both edgrs at a spacing 0f 2m with a 0.5m long rebar
(diameter 10mm)). Specifications of Geo-textile are as below:

1. Weight: 180 - 200 g/m²


2. Characteristics Opening Size: 0.01 - 0.11
3. Thickness at 2 kPa: 1.5 - 2 mm
4. Tensile Strength: More than 4000 kPa (for the thickness of 2mm -
more than 8 kN/m, for the thickness of 1.5mm - more than 6kN/m)
5. Seam Strength: 14 - 16 kN/m
6. Coefficient of Permeability in the vertical direction: more than
0.005 m/s

2.5 PWD Schedule 2018 Removing sludge or semi-liquid clay/substances etc not cum 12,111.90
Item No. 02.9 suitable for pumping out or carrying by head load from the bottom of
any marshy land, lake, ditch, pond by mixing fine local sand of F.M.
0.8 or less to a proportion such that it can be carried to an
intermediate point of disposal and cutting the same including
stacking and spreading properly on a suitable place to dry in the sun
for a certain days and dispose the dried sludge or clay to a safe
distance etc. complete and accepted by the Engineer subject to
submit method statement to the Engineer for carrying out the works
including ultimate disposal of the sludge under this item for
approval. However Engineer’s approval shall not relieve the
Contractor of his responsibilities and obligations under the contract.

2.6 PWD Schedule 2018 Sand filling in foundation trenches and plinth with sand having cum 81,562.54
Item No. 02.10.1 F.M. 0.5 to 0.8 in 150mm layers including leveling, watering and
compaction to achieve minimum dry density of 95% with optimum
moisture content (Modified proctor test) by ramming each layer up
to finished level as per design supplied by the design office only, all
complete and accepted by the Engineer.

2.7 PWD Schedule 2018 Sand filling in foundation trenches and plinth with coarse sand cum 3,853.00
Item No. 02.10.3 having min. F.M. ≥2.2 in 150mm layers including leveling,
watering and compaction to achieve minimum dry density of 95%
with optimum moisture content (Modified proctor test) by ramming
each layer up to finished level as per design supplied by the design
office only etc. all complete and accepted by the Engineer.

2.8 PWD Schedule 2018 50 mm down graded picked jhama Khoa consolidation in cum 6,421.66
Item No. 02.11 foundation trenches by mixing the same with best quality local
sand (F.M. ≥1.2 in (2:1) (khoa:sand) proportion to achieve
minimum dry density of 95% with optimum moisture content
(Modified proctor test) including breaking and screening chips,laying
and spreading in150mm layers uniformly and compacting etc. all
complete and accepted by the Engineer.

3 Suppling, Laying, jointing of the GRP pipes, Manholes and Fittings
3.1 Supply of GRP Pipe - DN 2200mm, SN 10000 (minimum 6m long); rm 3,840.00

coating on the inner surface including all joint accessories. Prices of
pipes, joint accesories, freight, transportation to the site are
included. Specifications of GRP pipe are as below: DN 22000,
