 Tom v Jane
On 3 Oct 2013, Jane’s car ran into Tom’s car on
the Central Highway near the Henderson Hotel.
Tom’s car was completely destroyed and Tom’s
neck was injured.
Tom came to you for advice. He recalled that his

headlights were off when the accident happened
and he might have been speeding at the material
time.

 Copper Limited v Joe
Copper Limited (a precious metal mining company)
entered into an employment agreement with Joe under
which Joe agreed not to set up a competing business within
one year after the termination of his employment.
Joe’s employment was terminated on 3 Oct 2012. He then
established a company called Metals Limited on 2 Feb
2013 and started soliciting customers of Copper Limited.
The business was so good that Metals Limited now
achieved 30% of the market share.
